Depth

Was a great continuation of the first book. One thing to note is the recurring Phrases and reuseage of the same lines. Does get a little stale with descriptions of the characters. However It deepens the understanding of all characters and developments of the events.

An excellent sequel

I'll be honest I'm a sucker for a David Burke book. I enjoy seeing an author improve as they go on and Law of Family is a fantastic example of that. In book 2 of the Four Laws, we see our Main character not only coming to terms with the new dangers he has to face but taking them head-on. One of my favorite parts of a David Burke book is that the hero strives to improve and takes wild risks for their gains. In this book, the risks are bigger and the gains are huge combined with awesome fight scenes and we have an amazing adventure. Finally, the narrators both are fantastic and really bring every scene to life.

Nice sequel

It’s hard to review the book 100% favorably but the reason is a bit of a spoiler so I’m just going to say that while I understand the reason, the sheer number of times the MC loses consciousness is so often he even mentions it. It will feel like he’s actually progressing with his Cultivation when he can 1) remain conscious, and 2) he stops being reactive and starts being proactive. I won’t say how but the ending was…disappointing. But it’s obviously a great story or it wouldn’t affect me, lol.

Was Worth Sticking With

Definitely glad I stuck through some of the slower parts in the first book. As the story builds it has gotten more interesting.

too many intermissions

I truly enjoyed the first book because it did a lot to set the base of the story. unfortunately I struggled with the second one for too much interlude into side parts of the story that as of right now do not affect the main storyline. As well as too much concentration on the continuation of the main characters bodybuilding exercises.

Very captivating

The aothur did it again. Burke did amazing job with the fight and romance. The right amount of police work. The narrator's did amazing job bringing life to the characters. Never once becoming monotone.

Really good

Okay i really liked but i feel somewhat robbed because of the way the back street boys were dealt with, it feels like there's no closure there's only a comment of oh yeah another gang rules now especially since he got the crap beat out of him by them but still was an entertaining listen and look forward for the next one

I'm really enjoying this series.

That was awesome! keep it up, I wasn't sure i was going to lile it but, it os really good. The story is good and it keeps you a little confused about who is good besides the main character and crew or if all of the other and their agendas are bad. love it! ❤️

Continues a great story

I read one review about stupid decisions and honestly just don't get it.

The MC acts and doesn't always do the best thing but he is in the heat of
battle. I find that type of MC to be more realistic and relatable.

I love how much he is a take charge kind of MC and definitely goes at it.
He is creating a cultivation system from scratch and taking charge of his life.

The battle against his arch-rival definitely showed his growth from the first book.
