How to start, run, and grow a successful washateria business

From a business standpoint, the laundromat business model is ideal. Why, may you ask? Think about it; you can run one of these without any employee if you choose to do so. But whether you buy or build an attended or unattended washateria, they both have their unique advantages.

The laundromat business has been around for decades and has proved to be one of the very few recession-proof businesses. They are here to stay.

Here are some facts that may surprise about this business.

The United States currently has about 30,000 laundromats.

The laundry business is pretty much a recession-proof industry, in that there is always a need for clean clothes, no matter what the state of the economy is in the United States.

The economic aspect of the United States laundry business is that the laundry business offers a gross revenue per year of $5 billion.

Decent amount of info for the cost

I grabbed this book because it was short and cheap. Wanted to get some initial ideas flowing and did not know much about the business. The numbers and ranges used are all over the place. Some information, specifically about SBA loans, is not accurate. What made it really hard to swallow was the almost AI generated sounding voice that couldn't quite follow all of the vernacular of the author. I am a seasoned entrepreneur and I didn't need a lot of what the book covered as far as leasing, borrowing money, etc. If you've never owned a business then this is certainly useful. I was hoping the book had more information concerning -

What are the key demographics?
What works better - gas or electric?
What is the deceiving factor(s) behind 24/7 operation?
Cashless payment systems versus coin

The book overall does a decent job of wetting the appetite and of course you will have to do more research to get in the game. To be honest, before leaving this review I read it again to make my notes before moving on to another source of info.

Good reading

I like how she broke everything down and gives a better understanding of what the process of the laundromats was about.

Everything you need to know in one book.

This book summarize everything you need to know about starting a laundry business. It has a lot of solid pointers, helping you get straight to the point instead of reading a million different websites giving the same information. Good listen! Looking forward to taking your advice/approach and opening one myself! Thank you!

If you can get past the wordiness...

if you can get past the wordiness there is some helpful information. The amount of excess "and / or", "and etc.", " may or may not" is absolutely painful and almost funny.

Narrator sounded like a robot

It sounded like the performance was by a robot. There’s some decent content in here but it’s really hard to listen to. It would probably be way better if the narrator was different. I began to wonder if the author used generative AI to write the book as well.

Written and read by low quality AI

The sentences just loop and sound so robotic. Very obvious this was written by AI with absolutely no editing by a human. You’ve been warned
