They warn you to not stare into the darkness too long…

I’m Cash Morgan. Special Agent Cash Morgan. They trained me to track killers. To find the cracks in their masks, the patterns in their chaos. I was the quiet voice behind a badge, the profiler with a near-perfect record, the one they called when things got dark and twisted. I didn’t flinch at blood. I didn’t blink at bodies. I just hunted.

And then I met her.

Vienna Drew wasn’t just a case file. She was a storm in human form—rage and beauty wrapped in precision. The first time I saw her, she was standing over a corpse, steady hands, unflinching eyes. Would I have brought her in? Not a question I’ll ever have to answer, because they took me with them.

It didn’t take me long to decide I would never stop following her. Not orders. Not protocol. Her.

The more I learned about her the more I wanted her. Her father's murder tied into something bigger, and she’s chasing justice. Every step she took into the darkness, I followed. When she disappeared, when her trail went cold? We didn’t wait for a warrant—I broke open the goddamn world to find her.

Now I’m working with the very people I would have once arrested. Rick—the madman with a moral compass that points only to her. Fletcher—chaotic genius with loyalty sharp enough to bleed. They don’t trust me. I don’t blame them. But we want the same thing: to keep her alive.

And if we have to kill to do that? So be it.

The FBI thinks I’ve gone rogue. Maybe I have. Maybe this is who I was all along. Not the badge. Not the suit. Just a man who sees monsters and makes them disappear.

She’s my line in the sand. She’s the reason I broke every rule I ever followed.

And now? Now I’m not hunting her. I’m hunting for her.

When we find the people who hurt and kill now?

We don’t arrest them. We bury them.

Ending felt a little anticlimactic to me but otherwise what a wonderful story!!! This is now one of my favorite rh series ever! Gonna be hard to beat.

If you like a RH then this is your series!!! This series has it all! A good storyline and not overly spiced where it’s like not again? And Fletcher!!! His character is perfect and funny!!!

This is worth it!!!

The final book in the series wraps things up, and overall it's satisfying. Vienna and her guys finally get answers to the mysteries that have been building across four books. There are some genuinely emotional moments, and I loved seeing everything come full circle. My one complaint is that the resolution felt a bit too easy after all that buildup. Like, we spent three books with escalating danger and complexity, and then it just... resolved a little too neatly? But the character work is strong, and the relationships landed well. If you've made it this far in the series, you'll want to see how it ends.

Satisfying ending that felt a bit too easy
