Publisher's summary

From the Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Everything series comes a new novel of love, lies, and deceit.

Lifestyle journalist Ella Skye remembers every celebrity she interviewed, every politician she charmed between the sheets, and every socialite who eyed her with envy. The chance meeting with her husband, Damien; their rapid free fall into love; and their low-key, intimate wedding are all locked in her memory. But what she can’t remember is the tragic car accident that ripped her unborn child from her. Ella can’t even recall being pregnant.

Hoping to find the memories of a lost pregnancy that’s left her husband devastated and their home empty, Ella begins delving into her past when she’s assigned an exclusive story about Nathan Donovan, a retired celebrity adventurer who seems to know more about her than she does him. To unravel the mystery of her selective memory loss, Ella follows Nathan from the snowcapped Sierra Nevada to the frozen slopes of southeast Alaska. There she discovers the people she trusts most aren’t the only ones keeping secrets from her - she’s hiding them from herself. Ella quickly learns that some truths are best left forgotten.

She's Back

Last Summer is up to the quality of Everthing we Keep!! I love the characters, the twists and turns of plot and I didn't want it to be over!! I had to limit my readings!!

Difficult subject

Spoiler alert! Please don't read if you haven't read the book. Recommend reading this book but it's has a deviousness in it.
I've waited to write my review as this book was a difficult story for me personally because of Damien's character, having lived with a controlling and lying spouse. That Elise could wake up and not remember her baby and being pregnant, and that he would not help was terrible. I wanted to strangle him but her reaction to it was strange too. There was the foreshadowing of her noticing the two drives on his key ring but she then drops it? Really? Even when she starts searching for answers?
Donovan is just as mysterious and won't answer questions expecting her to remember! These men are cruel in their expectations of this woman. Both claiming to love her yet neither fully acting like it. Donovan slowly redeems himself and I believe that she discovered what real love is with him. That she loves Damien but that's at the same level of live as Donovan. Also, Damien is controlling; while with Donovan, she admitted to him the truth about the pregnancy hope and Damien's sterility; by then she'd fallen for him.
I love the ending where Damien thinks he's won - that all his convoluted mechanations worked. Then she is sent the key to turn on her memories asking with all her erased files! Excellent!

Kerry is one of my favorites.

Love the twist and turns in story. The I read of her stories the more of a fan I become. Listening and read has been my life during COVID-19. I'm so grateful to find this author.
Thank you

Last Summer

Great characters...so much depth in each and everyone of them! Losing one's memory is a tragedy, whether an accident or on purpose! Who else is wondering about a big lie told by Damien....re the memory loss?! Sequel?

What a waste of a credit

This is one of the stupidest stories I’ve ever listened to. What a waste of time and a credit. Kerry, you’ve sunk too low on this one.

Diabolical plot - character development weak.

But found main character ridiculous. As the plot unfolds each of the 3 characters devolve into pathetic idiots. I do love this narrator though. She makes anything sound good.

A first

This was my first audiobook; I got it to accompany me on morning walks. I’ve read other Kerry Lonsdale books, so I was sure I would enjoy; I wasn’t disappointed. The twists and turns often had me literally stopping in my tracks. The only disappointment was that it ended - I really want to know that next chapter. The characters were endearing, annoying, deceitful, likable, and at times hateful - kind of like real life.

good book with a questionable ending .

I felt like the storie wasn't completed . I had mixed emotions to the ending . I felt for all three of the characters at first but in the end I felt there betrayal and it made me mad. Nathan deserved better Ella was just as conniving as her husband at the end. I felt a little lost to the past stuff.
