Another good one

It’s great to have the follow up to last years book Pawn, it was exactly what I expected except for a few twists and turns. We get to see more of her parents and lore of the Fae and the boys again.
There is a part in chapter 14 where two audio tracks overlap and is a little disconcerting as it’s hard to make out what’s what if you haven’t read the books. It’s unfortunate and the only reason I gave it a dock on the stars.

Knight is book 2 in the Fae Games series and it will leave you on the edge of your seat!
Karen weaves a story so well I feel like I am in the pages of the books I’m reading. We meet up with Jesse soon after book 1 ends. I loved getting to see Jesse grow into the woman she is destined to become as she figures out how to manage taking over for her parents while they recover, her bounty hunting, and navigating the ins and out of the Fae world she found herself thrown into in book one.
Karen does an amazing job of developing the characters, and the different creatures in our world thanks to the rift. She is a master at bringing all the different personalities through as she describes each one so you feel like they’re real.
If you love Fae centered paranormal reads with a touch of romance, a mystery to unravel, and a ton of adventure, you’ll love this book.

Caitlin does a great job bringing the characters to life. I loved being able to listen to the story.

Amazing!

I couldn't stop listening. If I couldn't listen I read the book. The narrator was great and really fit the character. Karen Lynch is one of my favorite authors and this series is as wonderful as the others of hers I love so much!

I am have been meaning to read this series forever & I finally got to it on my TBR. Why didn’t I read this sooner?!?!? That was a rather silly decision on my part. This book was so good! I am not a huge reader of New Adult/fade to black series, but Karen Lynch will always be one of my go to authors for them.

After the revelation at the end of book 1, I am rather mad at Lukas. So mad at him, but this book does help me forgive him again, eventually.

This book revolves around the fact that a very important Fae relic was taken from their realm and it is causing issues in both realms. Now every bounty hunter in the world is looking for it, many in New York.

Jesse still has so much on her plate. She might have her parents back, but they have a long way to go in order to recover. They also remember nothing from shortly before they where taken, including the why.

Can't wait for Queen!

Love the story, the author keeps surprising me with every page I turned! Even my husband got into it when I was listening to it out loud and made me restart it for him to get the full story. That has never happened before!!!

Fae Games

This book certainly captures the name of the series. The Fae are certainly playing games with our heroine. Jesse is certainly experiencing manipulation from both Fae courts. That was quite the plot twists towards the end of the book. One, I somewhat expected and still surprised me but the other twist completely caught me off guard.

The narration was sublime.

Awesome

I love this story and I was quick to jump on both the audible and paper version when they came out. I noticed there were a few audio bugs where future parts of the story overlapped the current but other than that I loved listening to it. Would highly recommend this series.

A Knight Changed

Karen Lynch is a superb novelist and a master of words. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading her latest series Fae Games, and you can best believe I NEVER saw these twists coming. The surprises just keep coming on, leaving me whiplashed from the shock of it all. I don’t know how Jesse keeps going!

As a human among Fae, Jesse has to be at the top of her game if she wants to outwit the new opponents placed in her path. No longer willing to be a pawn for the Fae, she is carving her own path and shaping herself into the warrior we all knew she could be. Though she may not be as removed from their influences as she had hoped, for they still have plans for her yet. Plans that could intertwine her life with theirs inescapably. She will be in for the fight of her life as her enemies close in on her. Thankfully, she won’t have to go this perilous road alone.

She was hurt before by the people she trusted most, whom she had thought would protect and support her no matter what. And now they will need to win her trust again, for all their sakes. For unbeknownst to them all, Jesse will play a key role in maintaining and restoring balance and civility to more than just themselves. Their worlds are both at stake in this next edition of the Fae Games, and she might just be the answer they’re looking for to save them all.

I fell in love with Jesse and her crew from book one and she, her family, and her friends have become a cherished part of my world. I love seeing Jesse overcome the numerous obstacles thrown her way, and if I thought Sara had it rough, Jesse’s brawn and brains can’t dodge the new level of challenges she’s facing in her own story. Though as someone who is highly invested in the lives of both of these treasured women, I can definitely see the parallels between their journeys, and the familiarities I experience in Jesse’s story make me feel like Sara’s world isn’t entirely gone from my life. A part of her kind, selfless, and courageous self lives on in Jesse. New, but not entirely different. It’s amazing to read and brings back such fond memories for me.

Caitlin Kelly is an excellent voice narrator for the character Jesse, and she does an amazing job of capturing the other characters’ voices as well. She really knows how to bring the whole crew to life. It’s a true pleasure to listen to.

I highly recommend this book to those who see the wonder and fantasy within their own realities. For that is what this book captures the best to me. It’s a perfect blend of the real and the imagined, the existent world and the possibilities we can only dream of. You won’t regret picking up this amazing book and series today!

Great second book!

This is a fun series. I love Lukas and his royal guard. Great ending too.

Loved it! Great character development and the slooooooow burn! 🔥

I really like Jesse’s character, she is strong and balanced without being too dramatic or prideful. I like how her character grows throughout these books and how unique the different characters in this book are.
And the slow burn romance is fantastic!

This is a book with mature enough characters that I (26yr old)love listening to it but clean enough that I could give to my little sisters. No F-bombs or descriptive sex but enough action to keep things interesting 😏 love it!
