Publisher's Summary
Summer is finally here and geography teacher Sara Larson has exactly one month to find the perfect date for the wedding of a high school rival. The odds seem stacked against her, but the last thing she wants is to sit at the kids' table again. Or even worse, the singles' table. While trudging through an assortment of certified losers, Sara fights her attraction towards Ian, the irresistible guy next door.
Art teacher Ian McBride has a dream of opening his own gallery, but for now he's focused on sculpting a gift for his grandparents' 50th anniversary and enjoying a relaxing summer. However, Ian is blind-sided when crazy, beautiful Sara and her giant dog move in next door and rock his world. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him.
How can Sara avoid the attraction that sizzles between them and stick to her rule of not dating neighbors? As far as Ian's concerned, the prince Sara is looking for is right under her nose. And one kiss just might change everything.

Cute story with good narration
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, because it's a good example of it's genre. It was cute and fluffy without anything hardcore. It wasn't action or excitement, but I liked the humor. The dates she kept ending up with were not realistic, which is okay with me because they were meant to be funny and they succeeded in that. It was a simple plot with good pacing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ian's friend was my favorite in the story, because he was hilarious. Both Ian and Sara did things I thought were rude, like Ian waking Sara up and her banging on the wall, but that's just people and it kept the story moving. Ian did less annoying things, but he was too accommodating and forgiving.
What does Ryan Kennard Burke bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I really enjoyed this narrator's performance. He has a comfortable voice without overdoing the female voices. The pacing and clarity was well-done. The only problem was that I frequently couldn't tell Ian and Sara apart, so I had to pay very close attention.
Any additional comments?

I'm sorry but.....
I am extremely glad I did not listen to this author's books in order. I HATED the lead female character. She is the whiniest female EVER! Outside of that, I loved Ian (especially when he put Sara in her place for her crap) and the narrator is great, but if I had heard this story before listening to the others I would not have made it to another book.

A nice lighthearted story to counteract reality
Funny, lighthearted tale of dating angst. And a dog! The story flows well and we can all relate to some of the frogs. Ian feels insecure because of family expectation, and Sara has her own issues. Thrown together by Sara's move to the condo next to Ian, they reluctantly explore the attraction. No bed-hopping here, but other realities are referenced.
Totally engaging and definitely not too long. Grabs you by the ear and won't let go.
On the other hand, Ryan does not seem the best fit as narrator. He seems to be a fine audio-performer, just not as well suited to this type of book.

Sweet and fun.
I enjoyed writer Rich Amooi’s sense of humour, and the outlandish situations he puts heroine Sarah into with her dates. In this story, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong for Sarah and Ian, and it’s a patient reader who won’t be frustrated by their lost opportunities at love. But the wait is worth it because they are sweet, caring and delightful people who capture your heart.
This is a clean story but with kissing (and with brief adult references). It’s refreshing to read stories where the main couple are respectful and kind, and not dominating or manipulative. I eagerly awaited the happy ever after.
This was my first experience with Ryan Kennard Burke who did a wonderful job of all the distinct voices he gave the characters, and his beautiful narration.
I recommend this story.

Delightful
Rich Amooi has a wickardly funny sense of humour and it comes to the fore in this story. I was entertained with many a good laugh and most of time time had a huge grin on my face.
I like the idea that this is a love story written from a male perspective. It has just the correct amount of love and romance without being soppy and it also doesn't rely on sex scenes to keep the reader interested.
The idea that the frog to be kissed so that he could turn into a prince nearly drove Sara scatty but she had been badly let down by her previous boyfriend in a similar scenario and so rather subscribed to a dating service and tried desperately to pretend that her feelings for her prince didn't exist.
Ryan Kennard Burke does a good job of narration and has a pleasant and easy to listen to voice.
All in all a very enjoyable experience.
