Second Chances in more ways than one!

This book has all the feels! You'll run the gamut of laughter, tears, anger, frustration and more right alongside the main character. This character is so relatable for so many of us who try to go along to get along and not make a fuss. So many of us are insecure with our appearance, our life choices and what to do about feeling stuck, yet we often carry on with the status quo as it is just easier to go along and get along with everyone else. The beauty of this story is that as you walk beside the main character as she blossoms, with a few hiccups along the way, into accepting the person she is and being happy with herself you start to feel inspired to take a hard look at your own life and start accepting yourself. It's a cute rom com with a happily ever after, but it will leave you feeling optimistic about your own choices or at least the idea of making them. I absolutely loved the narrator as she really brought Percy and the other characters to life by showcasing their emotions so very well. I really look forward to more from this author!

Fantastic debut by a very skilled author!

I absolutely ADORED Ms. Peterson's debut novel. Her ease with dialog kept the story flowing and the emotion at the forefront of her writing. The family relationships were so relatable -- and the grandmother was a bit of pure joy! Especially her quotes at the start of every chapter. I laughed out loud more than once (and I rarely do that!)

The narrator was also excellent. Her voices for the characters were rock-solid and easy to listen to.

I cannot wait for the next book Ms. Peterson writes!

Great fun romantic story. Loved the writing, the characters and the narration. Highly recommended this audiobook

Well written overall

The story is wonderful. I suppose I have a personal trigger where a mom constantly is on her daughter about losing weight. The passive aggressive ways it’s done in the book made me want to reach inside and slap the mom and the main character for constantly taking that treatment. I can handle a little bit of stuff like that, but this book has a LOT of it,

I need a #2!! But, can’t stand him being called unhandsome. 😫 I had him pictures so ugly. 🫣

Easy read

I enjoyed this book very much. I didn’t initially care for the narration - something about the tempo/delivery of the lines was a little off in the beginning and distracted from the story, but it ultimately found its groove and then I got more into it. I found the main character pretty relatable and I enjoyed the lesson of being confident in who you are, as you are. It’s one that’s taken me half a lifetime to learn! Overall, light & easy read/listen and an entertaining story!

Loved this book so much!

I loved the book so much. The narrator did an amazing job bringing all the characters to life. This made me just want to fall in love. I loved the family drama too that ended in healing. Percy’s self confidence was amazing to watch. Listen to this. You won’t regret it.

I am not a book person

I am not a reader but this book was recommended to me by a dear friend I purchased in print first and re-read the first few pages a million times I carried it around with me in my "sex tote" so I could pull it out all those times my ex-boyfriend was ignoring me Anyways my brain I guess won't allow me to read for pleasure too much other garbage floating in there to distract me I discovered 3 hour drives to visit family & audible plus deliberate reminders to focus & a REALLY GREAT STORY!!! help
I immediately identified with the main character Her experience with men, her self image, her nasty fing mother!! I've been told I'm a "people pleaser" All those similarities drew me in But it was the humor all throughout the book and the shockers (her boss at her dads office, her neighbors backstory, etc) that kept me listening & of course the love story!!!!! yum!!!!! the little teases just killed me!!!!! I want more!!!!! Will there be a sequel?????

Adore this book

This book is laugh out loud funny. I love Mimi- her hilarious quotes to begin each chapter always made me laugh. Sharon Peterson is a witty, masterful story teller who pulls you into a therapy session while making you feel like you went to a movie and got popcorn with Xtra butter and a coke icee! I totally identified with Percy's people pleasing and mom issues. This story is a beautiful story of how we are all hot messes and beautiful just the way we are, but others can't see that until we do.Two thumbs way up!
