With a name like Quinn Calahan, I sounded as Irish as a leprechaun dancing a jig on a four leafed clover, but the truth was, I’d never been closer to the emerald isle than drinking green beer at the St Patrick’s day street party in Boston until I messed up so badly I had to leave the US. I was offered a job in a tiny village in Ireland that no one’s ever heard of. And I think that was the point in sending me there.

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a crush on me. And that I just moved in with them. Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

Trevor Merriam doesn’t like being ordered around by his older brother, much less to a sleepy Irish village to complete a business deal for their family company. Worse: the owner of the land he needs to buy doesn’t want him there. In fact, Becca O’Neill loathes him so much that she won’t even serve him the award-winning scones her famed Wild Irish Rose Bed and Breakfast is known for. Even worse than that (and not getting scones is bad in Trevor’s book): Becca has an ornery cat, a mischievous Irish setter, and a famous ghost all intent on making sure he fails.

Sweet Story
I truly enjoyed this book. After going through a few books that I just couldn’t finish, this one caught my eye. While of course it was predictable, (romance books always are, it’s why we read them), I really liked the characters (especially the dog). For a quick, feel good, small town story, this one works.

Great narrator and fun love story
For my first audible book in many years, I really enjoyed this playful, whimsical love story. It was a great way to while away the miles as I drove to different places.
The narrator, Teri Schnaubelt, read the lines and plot very well. She made it fun and believable.
The flow of this love story by Nancy Warren was easy with just the right amount of romantic sexiness.

Would you listen to Kiss a Girl in the Rain again? Why?
Probably
What did you like best about this story?
It felt real.
Which scene was your favorite?
The rain one probably...lol
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not extreme, but I felt the appropriate emotional responses :)
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the characters being both likeable and realistic. I don't like women 'needing' a man, but also enjoy a self aware couple who act like normal human beings would - so the author did brilliantly there. The characters were very well developed and the story wasn't dictated by a bunch of ideas, but instead, seems to flow like real life events do.

An enjoyable listen🎧
This is my first book by Nancy Warren and I enjoyed this story about two similar yet different people who meet in a small town under a situation contrived by someone else. Caitlyn and Evan are similar in that both are slightly embarrassed by their families, both have jobs that are stressful and both careful in declaring their feelings. The differences between them are that Caitlyn is a doctor that is very focused on being perfect while Evan is a lawyer that is able to fly by the seat of his pants when circumstances warrant. Together they balance one another out! Teri Schnaubelt is also a new narrator to me and I enjoyed her performance as she has a voice that is easy to listen to.

A very sweet romance
Have you ever started reading a certain author because they write a genre you like, only to find out they also write a slightly different one that you ALSO enjoy? Well that’s what happened with this book for me. I adore Nancy’s paranormal cozy mystery books. Like seriously, she’s my fav! But while I’ve been waiting for the next books in her series to come out I figured I would check out some of her other work. Let me tell you, Kiss a Girl in the Rain just confirmed why Nancy Warren really is one of my favorite authors out there right now. This book was an absolute delight to read. And spoiler alert: there’s a dog! (Fastest way to make me want to read a book) The characters were so relatable. It was so well written that I was already casting the characters in my head for a movie. Definitely give it a read, you’ll be happy you did.

A fantastic current day romance
Recommended by Amazon Audible customer service personnel (whose name is Lady) earlier today - she couldn't have made a better suggestion. Amusingly I'd called to return a thriller I purchased yesterday which I simply couldn't get in to; it was the first non fiction book I'd bought. That Lady even made a suggestion was unexpected yet I was curious and experimented.
She couldn't have chosen better for me, for the escapism, lightness and love I've been desiring.
Listened to the entire novel this afternoon and evening; it's heart centred, has a meaningful storyline, flows beautifully, is fun, sexy and spiritually deep. Swift moving and captivating. Excellent read/listen! Well read. Can't wait to immerse myself in Nancy Warren's next novel.

Life lists and romance
This was a classic hallmark movie style romance novel which will make you smile as you listen to it. When the city lawyer decides to go traveling to find himself he ends up stranded in a small town and at the door of the lovely doctor. While the romance was inevitable would the passion survive once the lawyer takes off again to continue his journey?
