SHORT AND SWEET!

I liked this book! This book was very sweet and quick. The narration was superb and gave the story that extra flair, it really kept you entertained. This author did a great job with the characters. This was my first book by this author but definitely will not be my last. I loved that you get 4 stories in one book. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Interesting!💜

This was an interesting combination of short stories. Ironically the title would suggest a slow growing romance but they are anything but slow.
Each story has its own unique storyline and all of them were pretty good, however, like with many short stories they moved way too fast.
The narration was very good.
If you’re in need of a MM quickie, this might just the book for you.

4 stories, enjoyed Randi Johnson's narration

Kiss Me Slowly by Romeo Alexander is four separate short stories. In each of the stories one of the MCs is having his first experience with gay love.

I listened to the audio version of Kiss Me Slowly which is narrated by Randi Johnson. These stories are an excellent fit for Mr. Johnson’s narrating style. His expressive and enthusiastic vocals enhance the characters, and his rich, melodic voice are always a pleasure. 4 Big Stars for his performance on this one.

Snack Bar - 3 Stars

I really enjoyed this one, it is completely adorable. Two young men working at a summer sleep-away camp sneaking away to kiss and snuggle. Very sweet and well told.

Method Actors - 4 Stars

This is one creative story! The way this couple gets together is nicely done and works well for me. I was completely surprised at the turn the plot takes, and I never saw any tags to give a hint as to which way this one goes (view spoiler) but it ends up working for the story.

Building Hearts - 3 Stars

This plot has a different flavor from the other stories in the collection, but I enjoyed how it all plays out. A young, inexperienced country boy moves to the city to escape his parents’ unpleasant reaction to his coming out. I like the way he confronts his responses to the wealthy, older man’s attentions and that works well with the next part of the story. This is the one with the content warnings (view spoiler).

Terrible Gambler - 2 Stars

Unfortunately, this story is a bit too short so the characters’ connection doesn’t work for me.

A collection of 4 short stories. There was more than once I had to stop and try to determine which story I was listening to. The endings were a bit abrupt and hasty.

The narrator was easy to understand and consistent.

Nice collection

A collection of short stories surrounding M/M beginning relationships. The range from cute and flirty to honest and emotional. Enjoyable and worth the time to listen to.

Four good short stories.

Kiss Me Slowly is made up of four short stories, and it's the first I've read by Romeo Alexander. It's also the first audiobook I've listened to by Randi Johnson. I actually think it might be the first book that Randi has narrated.

Randi Johnson has a very nice voice to listen to. In this compilation of stories, though, I felt like his voice was a bit too emphatic for most of the stories. I really enjoyed the various voices he did and as the book progressed his narration improved and his voice seemed a bit less emphatic.

I listened to this audio in one sitting. I found it a bit difficult to shift POVs from story to story. Snack Bar is third person, Method Actors is first person alternating between the two main characters, Building Hearts is first person present by just one character and then Terrible Gambler was back to third person. There is nothing wrong with any of these POVs, it was just a bit disconcerting to right from one POV to the other. It would have been fine if I had paused my listening for a bit between books.

Romeo Alexander's writing wasn't bad at all but I was a bit amused by the way he worded the sexy time in Building Hearts so that no explicit words were used. I found this a bit unusual because the previous story, Method Actors, had a fair amount of explicit sex. If I had paused between stories, I probably wouldn't have noticed it but at the time I listened the differences really caught my attention.

Four Short Stories, One Great Narrator

I enjoyed this audiobook from author Romeo Alexander. Snack Bar is cute and sweet. Method Actors is longer and my favorite. An intense romance with a Hollywood actor. Building Hearts is the story of a guy on the run from his past who stumbles into love while hoping his parents will finally come to terms with who he is. Terrible Gambler is the last of the four stories and my least favorite.

The narrator, Randi Johnson does a great job. His voice his smooth and his narration is much more authentic and believable than most. I look forward to hearing more of his work and recommend author Romeo Alexander too! They are a great combination.
