Good book

The book is food but it just seems like they dont take the danger seriously enough. If you know that people are chasing your Queen why do you only have 1 person watching her? Why does she not pay real attention to her surroundings? Or why does she not carry weapons if she is trained?

I would like the book better is she had more than just a smart mouth.

dark, intense

Imani is learning to navigate between her MC life and work. Oh the connection between Imani and her man is hot and steamy.
I enjoy her sass and independent attitude.
Things are heating up between the Dreads and the Creeps. Action packed with twists snd turnss.
This ends on a cliffy . I cant wait to for what happens next.

Lacy Laurel and Antionio Turner narration is very good.

Great continuation of story

Xavier Neal is a newer author for me. This series consists of three shorter listens, this being the second. I've enjoyed the storyline and characters. It's been easy for me to get invested in them. The cliffhanger was brutal and I'm glad I was able to jump straight into the final book!

Antonio Turner and Lacy Laurel brought this book to life. They are excellent narrators. Love their voices.

Adonis and Imani

The King is back, he's found his Queen and now it's time to fight for Camelot. The men of the MC are not "good guys" but they are heroes. They keep the town safe. But now one of their own can't be trusted. They need to uncover their mole and destroy the danger to Camelot. Even if it means wiping out another MC and controlling their turf. Hopefully, the casualties won't be too high.

Before I can get to the story, I have to ask, am I the only reader who would prefer these two to use King and Queen less often? It comes across as cheesy bordering on ridiculous. I suppose it fits the melodramatic nature of the story but it distracts me. Now, this next part will sound strange since I like Adonis and Imani but I prefer when they interact with the club members or Imani's family more than when they are one on one. Their outside interactions are natural and aren't over-the-top like their personal exchanges are. I also liked the action in this book. Each showed their strengths. They are both intelligent and strong individually. Together, they are an unbeatable team.

The narration was again performed by Lacy Laurel and Antonio Turner. Lacy was solid as Imani and the other females. Antonio Turner is making Adonis his own. His growl is perfection and his rasp is sexy. His delivery is still uneven but much improved.

Makes me love Imani and King all the more

This is the second in a trilogy. It brings me closer to the characters as Imani is still trying to find her place in with the club. I do enjoy all her getting over on the club members. It adds a bit of humor to the story. This one really moves the story along and we get to watch King and his Queen become closer. I love his growly personality in regards to her. Then she isnt afraid to fill her role a Queen of the club.

I did listen to this on audio. The narration is well done.
