Publisher's Summary

An epic action-adventure series set in Blizzard's popular World of Warcraft® game franchise. Features a young cast of characters discovering the mysteries and majesty of the world around them.

It's been years since 12-year-old Aramar Thorne, a clever boy who is never without his precious sketchbook, has seen his father. So when Captain Greydon Thorne comes ashore and asks his son to join him at sea, it feels as if someone has redrawn Aram's entire world. At sea Aram struggles to get along with the Wavestrider's crew - especially second mate Makasa, a tough teenage girl who has been reluctantly placed in charge of him. Just as Aram starts to get his head above water, a band of vicious pirates attack the Wavestrider, turning his world upside down once again. As Aram and Makasa try to find their way home, they encounter creatures both terrible and wondrous, and Aram will seek to understand Azeroth's denizens as he draws them in his sketchbook, forming unlikely friendships along the way. But the journey is hindered by Greydon's compass, which never points north. If the compass isn't leading Aram and Makasa home - to safety - to what destiny is it leading?

World of Warcraft for the teenager or tween.

if you like Warcraft, you'll love this book. no matter your age. Dire Maul and the Ogres play heavily into it. Since it was written for Scholastic, I assumed there would be a few more funny parts, so when they happened, it made me think they should be happening with more frequency. Don't think that makes it any less wonderful of a book though. Just something I desired.

Great warcraft story!

This book is awesome. If you're a Warcraft fan I think you will enjoy this story. It's a fun adventure set in the world of Azeroth. The narrator did a great job and the author really seemed to have done his homework. 10/10! Looking forward to the next in the series.

Amazing Travels Through Azeroth!

I am a HUGE Warcraft fan, especially of the lore explained by Golden and Knaak, and I found this title AMAZINGLY immersive. I was a bit hesitant in purchasing but so glad I did. Looking forward to the other installations of the storyline! Traveler was sooooooo good!

Thorough satisfaction!

Full disclosure: I am a lore junky---fanatic. From the oooold days of Warcraft, I've been obsessed with this world. And, in my estimation, Weisman has joined Knaak and Golden in WoW glory, expanding further this fictive universe with memorable characters and their worthy stories.

Read it as an adult, trying to review as a child

Fantastic book, with a lot of lovable characters.. even the evil ones! The author really takes the characters and the story to a whole new level and I really hope he returns for book 2. He could have voiced multiple characters in the Warcraft games with the various personas he evokes throughout.

I had a hard time getting through the introduction of a rather annoying character but I made it through and got to the very fantastic finale.

I recommend this for any fans of Warcraft, adult or child. Don't expect the gruesome and violent world we are used to.

It start a bit slow and I wasent sure I could get hooked but it turned out pretty good after a few chapter.. a nice little novel that give a fresh and light view on the warcraft universe... by the end I wished the second part was released to see what happen next!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

OH MY GOD! This book was amazing! I couldn't stop listening to it, and there is absolutely no reason to not buy this book listen to it, and keep listening to it. This is an amazing addition to the World of Warcraft. Anyone who doesn't listen to this book, or doesn't buy it is sorely depriving themselves of what is in my opinion one of the best World of Warcraft books, and one of the best performances by an Audible Narrator. I can't wait for the rest and I seriously hope Ramon comes to narrate them all.

Great intro for young adults into the WoW lore

Having studied how reading helps younger learners, I fully appreciate Blizzard teaming up with Scholastic to give access to the massive content of their World of Warcraft universe to younger readers. So far the books have beenba great series in their own rite, but also serve for companions to learning about the games and expanded universe of WoW. The characters maybe on a fantasy planet, but the story is grounded by making it relatable to the all too familiar struggles of adolescence with the main character, Aramar, as he learns to become a sailor on hos father's ship. I'm excited to read the next installment of this series as a reader, a fan of the games, and an educator.

Traveler: World of Warcraft

It's entertaining, joyful and sad. I'm very glad that I bought this Audiobook. It made me smile, made me laugh, made me slightly glum and sad, but by the end, it left me wanting more and anticipating the next installment.

Loved it!

I thought the story was great! I have been playing Warcraft since Warcraft II days so am aware of lore like a fan boy! However this was a pleasant new story, and easy to listen to while working even.

Character development was awesome! I can't wait for the next ones.

Sound stops with 4 hours to go

I really enjoyed what I heard but the audio just goes silent at around the 4 hours remaining mark. It needs to be fixed.
