Enjoyable story -

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

My two-year old loves to sit and listen to it. And she doesn't sit still for much. LOL! The recorded story is done well, and the background music is a nice touch, though sometimes distracting. I really would have liked to have had the pictures come through as this was a kindle version... you'd think with the technology it should be possible for them to do.

Background audio is too loud.

Self explanatory title... great stories, but the support audio is annoying and overwhelms the narration.

want to hear the story, not music

I love listening to an author read their own work, but the background music and sound effects were occasionally too loud and made hearing the story difficult.

Good story, not such good audio production

The stories are cute, and we have loved reading them. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the audio version nearly as much. The music is too loud and, rather than being background music, can be distracting and sometimes annoying. Though the author is narrating, there isn't much distinction between the two main characters' voices. There is a subtle difference, but not enough to be easily distinguishable by young children.
As a side note, that doesn't affect my rating, Toad is narrated as a very grumpy character. I suppose that is how the author intended him, but I don't care to read him as quite so crotchety to my young children.

My two year old loves it

I do too. We listen to it every night before bed. He is a wonderful narrator. And it's long enough to put a little one to sleep.
