I love George’s story!

I loved the story. I wished it were twice as long! A close look at George’s personality was so nice.

Great performance!

Loved having a voice bring George to life. I am hoping for the other George book to be recorded soon.

Fun, classic Calmes fare that may have more of a payoff for readers of her newsletter as we were reintroduced to Kurt (Steamroller) as a psychologist of the Kage extended family after a traumatic event and got to know George, Hannah's bodyguard, as he became more of a fixture in Hannah's life.

Once Hannah loves you, she desires your happiness above all else (except if that means listening to you disagree with her) and decides that George and Kurt are perfect for one another even though Kurt feels George's actions were more traumatizing than helpful and George isn't in the mood to be psychoanalyzed by someone who has no clue about who he is, his job, or military training. When Hannah invites Kurt to a fundraiser she's attending, Kurt and George of course butt heads, but also find unexpected common grown and when the event explodes into violence (natch), the two find that maybe Hannah was right after all.

I enjoyed seeing Kurt all grown up and finding out some of the reasons he changes so much (aside from no longer being a 20yo dude-bro), and I'm always up for more George and was glad to see him take center stage. Sweet, entertaining and OTT-Calmes's wheelhouse.

This With George series is a spin-off or connector of 2 series: Matter of Time & Marshals. Hannah & Aaron/Duncan are from the Matter of Time series & George is friends with Ian from the Marshals series.

This is a short book but very good!

Action, snark, and romance

I owned this book for months before I listened to it. If you are a Mary Calmes fan, like me, the story feels familiar. However, the new characters give things a hot spin. I am looking forward to book two!

As always, Mary Calmes writes a heartwarming and suspenful book. I have many of her audios and I always relisten.

Always Enjoyable !

I love reading Mary Calmes’ stories and am enjoying these little spin off side stories (from the Matter of Time series) with George, the bodyguard of Sam & Jory’s daughter Hannah.

Great Story

I really liked the plot and the characters. Cant wait to get more stories about George and his crew.

Nice little short

I adore George!! I am a huge fan of this whole connected world and loved this snippet into his life. Of course the guy Sam Kage and Aaron Sutter trust to guard Hannah would be a guy that deserves to be loved just as he is. I also enjoyed the narrator. I haven’t listened to as many things Declan Winters has done but I will need to change that.

Disappointed…

Compared to the Marshals series, which is my #1 series from anyone, this was dull. I know George from the Marshals, but I could see no reason for him to be interested in the therapist, who was stuffy. I was surprised to read in other reviews that he was more lively in MC’s newsletter, which I do not get. That was annoying, and the narrator’s voice of the therapist made him sound old, and without much of a personality, other than being judgmental. He actually sounded at times like Dr. Craig Hartley, from Ian and Miro’s story, only without his energy and passion. The story was a disservice to the character of George, not to mention readers. It takes place over a matter of hours, going from George being tricked into a setup with the therapist, to the celebrity fundraiser, kidnapping, resolution, and ending with the two of them together. Too rushed, and not enough backstory to make it interesting. Usually I immediately buy the next book in series, but I don’t think I could take a whole book of the boring doctor.
