Publisher's summary

We’ve won a battle...but we’re losing the war.

Travis Miller, his image reformed from the moron who screwed up our first contact with aliens to one of the heroes of the Battle for Eden, is given a new assignment: Retake the occupied colony of Brigantia. Losing it would be a glancing blow to the Tahni Imperium, but it would be Earth’s first solid strike against them, a chance to go on the offensive.

Ryan Hendrix and the Fleet Marines will be the tip of the spear, outfitted with their new Aegis-powered armor, while Jessica Leer and her Fleet Strike fighter squadron clear the way for the Marines and their landers, sacrificing their lives to get boots on the ground.

But even a victory on Brigantia won’t mean the end of the war.

And it might just make the Tahni angry enough to do something desperate, to strike deep into the heart of the Commonwealth, where we least expect it....

Once again, Travis is forced to choose between his orders and what he knows is right. And for him, win or lose, it’s judgment day....

Good book, fun series, a few issues.

For the most part the book and series are fun and enjoyable with good characters and an interesting premise. With this book however it does fall into the unfortunate trope of depicting the military as mostly honorable and just in part by contrasting them with 'bureaucrats' and 'politicians' who are selfish and cowardly and who the heroic military have to work around. Also displays an unfortunately poor understanding of the Vietnam War on the part of a main character. Maybe that's just the in-universe pro-corporate authoritarian education system.

Nonstop Action

Great follow up to the first book with plenty of vengeance and action. I couldn’t stop listening and now can’t wait to continue this series with book three.

The Plot

I enjoy the story. Some voice actors should stick to reading in their normal voice vs changing for each character but it gets less irritating as I listen. It has some over the top macho women that gets annoying but long as I’m not spending a credit it’s ok. All in all I think it’s an interesting story for the price

Great Military Sci-fi

There's little for me to say. It's in keeping with the series, the first book at least. Ryan's an idiot though. I'm happily on to the next in the series.

TORA TORA TORA

If u managed to get through the first book then I can confidently say that you will enjoy this one since unlike the first book which focuses more on world/universe building this one has a heavier focus on space and ground combat and strategy with a bit of love here and there tho I must admit that there is just one marine that just pised me off a bit on the end of the book u will understand once you get to it

Great story. Great characters. Great read.

I liked the way the story came together, interaction of the characters and the representation of the space battles. Maybe a few technical issues but it is not worth mentioning.
