Publisher's Summary

What is it about him that makes him a super achiever? What about him can turn an idea into a world-changing mega-company? What about him is like you and what isn’t? What can you learn from him?

Read, and find out.

The need to understand those around us who succeed beyond our own imagination is inherent in all of us. The innate desire is driven by our deep and underlying need to find better ways for us to achieve our own goals, understand our own dreams, and rise to our unique challenges.

This book is about the underlying events in the life of Jeff Bezos and the ways in which it influenced his life, the way he responded to them, and in the way he used them to his advantage. The book doesn’t claim to know the fibers that made the content of his heart - no man can know that. But what it does is string together multiple events and sees the shadows that it casts.

All that so that you can find the elements inside you that could be the seed of success, achievement, and greatness. The story of Bezos traces a path through his life as a youth and looks at his action and his achievements and deciphers the existence of his greatest achievement - Amazon - in a way that is reflective of his character, his intellect, and his upbringing.

His story is unlike any of the other successful people in history. His brand of work ethic is familiar but different.

Don’t wait any longer! Scroll up, and buy now to learn more about the richest man on the planet!

Pretty good audiobook.

The very conclusion appeared as a bit "rushed" though - maybe because Amazon is a living and extending company still, but the ending seemed more like stating facts without pulling the story together.

Good synopsis of the Amazon & Bezos story

The story describes how Jeff Bezos developed and as such was well positioned to make choices which fit his style and served Amazon over the long term. A consecutive walk down memory lane for those who have followed the company for some time and a pretty compelling abridgment for those who wish to learn the tale.

This is a great book

Provides me a complete view of how Jeff Bezos inaugurate Amazon and his philosophy of operating the business. It amazed me how smart and forward thinking he is. This is an eye-opener.

High-grade audiobook, light on aspects

I counsel that those engaged by Jeff Bezos and Amazon check this out. It's a quick, gently listen to that will, more than convincing, provide a broader understanding of how Jeff Bezos succeeded and how Amazon work.

Do not waste a credit.

Next to Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs this reads like a primary school project written by someone who has a crush on Jeff Bezos. Learnt nothing that I could not have got from Wikipedia (other than the Author's own anecdotal insights).

Reads/plays like a positive-thinking seminar and is not helped by the narrator who seems he would be better suited to narrating "The top worst police fights".

If you are looking for a well written biography of Jeff Bezos, do not waste a credit on this.

Appalling. No structure or substance.

Light on facts. Lacks any chronology. Avoid unless you want to hear more about the authors life

Somewhat short of factual content.

Too much filler and not enough content to this time. Isaacson makes his point over and over again.

Vague, generic, uninsightful and actually quite boring

I listened to this to kill time on a flight, and I’m relieved I didn’t take time out of an otherwise productive activity to do so.

It is essentially a sequence of generic or obvious points, fluffed out with irrelevant details or personal (to Bezos) history facts.

A lot of ‘when’ and very little, if any, ‘what’, ‘how’ or ‘why’. I couldn’t more strongly advise against wasting your money on this book.

Dull envy

In my opinion this is a man who is green with envy about the success of Bezos - fair enough - but to narrate a book which is just repeating what Bezos riches can buy - and then repeatedly telling me I must learn from his example to improve my life is just boring - after Branson autobiographies this is a huge dissapointment

Opinion as opposed to a story

The stuff on Jeff is more about opinions and giving advice. Unfortunately has a lot on Elon Musk.

Terrible

Very poor biography. I learned very little of the man outside what I could have picked up from a few quick internet searches. What I did get was an amateur psychological profile and constant back referencing to the authors life story, which while may be an interesting story in itself, was not what I payed to read.

Sound quality not very good.

Story was good but the narrator sound quality not very good, very patchy and at times hard to listen to.
