Publisher's Summary

The VC Warriors are an elite group of vampire who protect innocents, whether human or those of their own race. Jared Kincaid, along with other Warriors, are shocked when a fiery red head with a gun and attitude, bring news of young teens being turned into an army of half-breed vampires capable of taking out all VC Warriors. Breaking into the famed VC Warriors compound was definitely not the smartest thing Tessa Pride has ever done, but she will do anything for her brother, Adam. The Warriors held the one person she knew was responsible for her brother being turned into a half-breed and nothing will stop her from getting what she needs to help her brother, not even a Warrior whose eyes could make her melt with one look. Jared and Tessa join forces in a desperate scramble to find who is responsible. With a war between Warriors and half-breeds brewing, suspicions of traitors in their midst put the lives of everyone involved on the line.

I'M ADDICTED TO THIS SERIES

Two books into a series of 7 (+1 in the making) of The Protectors series & I am totally addicted. Teresa Gabelman hit a "home run" with this series. Jeffrey Kafer [the narrator] worked this book. I'm greedy in anticipation for the remainder of this series. I thought that Damien & Nicole's story was exciting but Jared & Tessa built on the series like a great musical piece and blew me away! The anticipation of book 3 [Duncan & Pam's story] is painful. I NEED to know what happens next! Yes, I could read all of the series now, but, as I said, Jeffrey Kafer really makes this series come to life even more than just reading it. So, I want to listen to it.

Each book builds on the previous one & includes the prior book's characters. I am totally invested. I loved the ending of book 2 and anticipate the others. All those characters have a story [just from what is written in the first 2] & it's killing me that I can't listen to them NOW. I am not good with waiting...the frustration is building

These are not teen or YA books, yet they aren't vulgar. It is a love story with the excitement of the Vampire Council Warrior's ongoing battle with the rogue half-breeds. There is betrayal from those least expected & help from others who were thought to be enemies. The books will keep the attention of people of all ages who love a good paranormal story.

There is sexual excitement/tension between the lovers & a good plot that keeps you attuned to each word said. These are the type of books that I have waited for. Thankfully, they didn't go overboard with the "50 Shades junk" & actually had a story to tell with enough sexual tension to keep it believable for a romance & paranormal book.

I NEED to know what is happening in all the other character's lives. Although, I got a HEA on Jared & Tessa there is danger surrounding some of the other characters that needs to be resolved.

Hurry Please!!!

IT BLEW ME AWAY & LEFT ME WANTING MORE MORE MORE

I loved, loved, loved absolutely everything about this second instalment into The Protectors series about a group of very Alpha Vampire males and the trouble they find themselves caught up in. It reminds me of my absolute favorite vampire series..... J R Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, no it's not quite as good but it's still early days into this series. However, there's the same witty banter, the same 'brotherhood' feeling, the same 'they'll do anything to protect their mate' and, of course, they're all sexy, hunky and 'take no sh*t' Vampires.

This books starts where the last one left off.... Chad is being interrogated by The Protectors as they're sure he holds the answers to many of their who and why questions but the trouble is Damon just wants to rip his head off for endangering his mate Nicole (story in book 1). The trouble comes when bar worker Tessa, who would do anything for her brother who has been viciously turned into a half-breed against his will, along with many other teenagers, and they think Chad knows who did it. So they cleverly, efficiently and successfully storm the compound to steal Chad from under the very noses of the Warriors...... which annoys, intrigues, fascinates and amuses the Hell out of Jared, along with the red headed beauty who carried it out.

Various POV's all brilliantly done by the sexy deep voice of Jeffry Kafer who made the book come alive.

Worth a credit? Strong willed Heroine and a love-love-loveable charming Hero who had great chemistry between them and funny witty and sexy interactions, good secondary characters and an action-packed continuation of the storyline that has twists, surprises and heartwarming romantic scenes makes this a 'straight through' listen as I just couldn't stop listening. So creditworthy.... you bet!

Computer sounds in background

Great story and the narrator wasn't half bad, but the computer bleeps in the background are a bit annoying.

It was just, ok

I really tried to like this book and this series; it just fell short. The plot didn’t hold my attention and I kept having to backtrack because my mind had wondered. The series isn’t very sensual, it’s not very thought provoking, it’s not suspenseful and it doesn’t make you relate; it just ok entertainment and I regret spending a credit on it.

I love this series!

This is my third time listening to and or reading this series. It is very well written. The building of the characters and their relationships is great. I recommend this author to anyone who loves a good paranormal read. The Protectors series has a different take on vampires, which is always nice. The plot is great and carries over with each book but still gives you the HEA that everyone wants. This series also has some crossover to at least one other series Mrs. Gabelman has written. I know this is a review of the series , but it covers this book. Jeffrey Kafer is also a great storyteller. I love his voice.

Top 10 Favorite Books

I adore this entire series but I have a special place in my heart for Jared & Tessa. Jeffrey Kafer does a FANTASTIC job in this series and I have been pseudo stalking Teresa to find out if they rest of the series is going to hit audio. It will be a true shame if they don't. To those that haven't discovered The Protectors yet... Dive. In. NOW!

Tessa will have you cracking up but she has such a sweet but insecure side. She's so feisty and protective at the same time. Jared is swoon worthy and one of my favorite Warriors. I need to listen to the Slade train and Sid and Jax and and and... PLEASE

Each story in this series gets better and better. I love how she makes sure to keep everyone updated in all the characters, not just the title one.

Amazing!

I never thought I’d enjoy an audible book because it would take the imagination out of a book. But I was sorely mistaken and cannot get enough of these books. I have read all of The Protectors Books by Teresa Gabelman more times than I can count. I plan on listening to them just as many times. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed.

I Couldn't Stop Reading/Listening!

I have become a fan of Teresa Gabelman’s writing style; I find her books easy to read, the plots are gripping, the pace is fast but never feels rushed and I am drawn in with believable main characters & a fantastic array of supporting cast (both human and vampire) that leaves me wanting to read more of their adventures. Jared did not disappoint.

Those of you that have read my reviews before, will know that I enjoy a story more if the lead female character is intelligent, resilient and has a good sense of humour - I wasn’t disappointed here. Tessa is everything that I look for in a lead female character; she's smart, witty and has plenty of gumption, she has a strong moral compass and loyalty that makes her fight for her family and those she considers under her care and although she's got a bit of a chip on her shoulder about her figure, hey what women hasn't, it kinda made her feel more real, easier to relate to.

I downloaded the whisper-syn narration and was impressed with Jeffrey Kafer's performance; the pace of his narration was just right, his intonations added depth and I enjoyed his vocal variances for the dialogue.

I loved that this book had me blubbering like a baby, got my blood boiling with rage but also laughing my socks off and while I must confess that I found certain scenes terrifying and shocking, Jared definitely hit all the right spots passion-wise *blush* and warmed my old romantic heart.

So, ummm, was there anything I disliked about it?
Nope, not a thing, hence the 5 stars.

However, I would take this opportunity to remind you that the story arcs relating to the new half-breeds and the vampire blood drug trade continues in various forms throughout this series. Ms Gabelman does weave basic details into her books, so that new readers are not completely lost and although I don’t think that it’s essential to your enjoyment of Jared to have read the previous book, I do feel that you’d miss an awful lot if you haven’t read Damon first.

So, basically what I’m saying is...
I really loved this paranormal romance story! It's got everything that I look for in a great book; action, romance, humour, an engaging plot-line and well written erotic sex scenes. Couldn't stop reading it!

Due to the nature of the storyline, the graphic violence and sexual content (it’s definitely steamy) I’d recommend this book to adults only who are fans of relationship and romance tales with gritty storylines and lots of passion.

I absolutely love this series. Narrator does a brilliant job. I've read all of them but listened countless of times to these on Audible. Waiting very impatiently for the rest of the series to be available on Audible.

A refreshing take on a old genre

What did you like most about Jared?

This is the second story in the series but also be read as a stand alone story it delves into the insecurities of a young woman who Jared claims and in doing so allows Tessa to bloom into a more confident person

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character is Jill. She is a shy quiet girl who is forced to deal with the problems, whilst dealing with her own problems she interacts well with the other characters and with some pushing from Tessa she emerges from her quiet she'll to become a strong character.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I enjoyed the fair ground scene the most. The descriptions of all the attractions and booths / stalks gave me a clear picture in my mind

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I like Jeffrey Kaffer as a narrator some narrators can ruin a good story, but I like the fact that he has the ability to use different voices for different characters. When I first heard him narrating I was a little unsure as he seemed to have a very monotone voice but once the action started I found his descriptions and intimations were perfect for the story. As a result I now have several books narrated by him.
