Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs, Book Three

The Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs series continues with a couple fighting to keep what they thought they had and gain what they didn’t know they needed.

Roxie Montgomery met her soul mate when she least expected it. When he asked her to marry him, she thought her happily-ever-after was only just beginning. Then, she found that walking into the sunset was much harder than her favorite books made it out to be. After a crushing loss, she feels as though she doesn’t know her husband anymore, or rather...she doesn’t know herself.

Carter Marshall has loved Roxie since the first time he saw her. But as the days pass between them, so does the distance. He doesn’t know how to show her that he’s all in, and honestly doesn’t know if she’s in at all. When an accident changes everything, they’ll have to decide if what they have can be salvaged, or if starting over is the answer. Or even possible.

Without fighting, without a true new beginning, sometimes, the remnants of what was lost can leave anyone jagged, shells of what they were before. It will take more than the idea of forever for Roxie and Carter to find themselves again, but as the Montgomerys know, nothing worth fighting for is easy.

This might be my favorite out of the series so far. They were dealing with a loss separately and that can be really hard on any relationship. I love that they finally communicated about everything.

Poor Roxie and Carter. They were both trying so hard but both were so lost to each other. I really like this book and was rooting for them the whole time. Both of them know there is something broken in their marriage but neither know how to fix it or fight for it. I’m so glad that both of them had people that rallied around them because they needed people in their corners until they could figure out what they wanted and what they needed to get there.

This was one of the most painful books I have ever listened to. The characters are vapid. There really isn’t a story. The characters basically didn’t communicate and both were on the “oh poor me” train. Basically the entire book follows this path. Even when they “get back together” in the last hour of the book, it’s anti-climatic. They had been introduced in previous books in the series and were married. I think the author wrote this book just so she could sell another book. This series (Montgomery) is far too long and the books are too much of the same, I have “reader fatigue” there are 3 separate but interconnected “series” within the overall Montgomery series. I’ve listened to them in order and with this one it’s over the halfway mark and I have to decide whether I want to invest the time to listen to the rest. There are basically only 2 good things with this book. First, Joe Arden narrated. I love his narration. The second good thing is that the series is in the plus catalog and I didn’t have to use a credit. I would have been incredibly upset at myself if I had paid for this horrible book. Save yourself the grief and just pass on this one if you’re listening to the series, you won’t miss much. There are quite a few in the series that are less than 2 hours, this one should have been one, but alas it was HOURS wasted

Worst book Of series

This one was a difficult book... we spent so much time trying to guess what was actually wrong and rushed the reconnection on this book. it was truly sad for over way too many chapters. this was my least favorite of the series as if the issues were actually being discussed but that was also rushed at the end.

Great family series...
