Though murder is hardly ever a simple matter, the most gruesome and complex ones are always saved for Brock and Poole. In Jack in the Box, the two detectives come across a victim who has not only been stabbed to death, but placed inside a box, and then set afire. It's a complicated matter to be sure, and the two set off on a high-stakes journey into the sordid world of London gangs. Performed by Damian Lynch with a sharp delivery, Jack in the Box will have listeners guessing until the very end.

DI Brock and DS Poole work with the rest of their team on what turns out to be sequential murders. What a tangle of 'artists' and 'film artists' along with some other odd folks, including one needing extradition! Delightful read.
Narration by Damian Lynch was very good at differentiating people and snarks. And that's a good thing!
