Sylvia Day
#1 New York Times & No. 1 Sunday Times bestselling author Sylvia Day returns to the decadence of the multimillion-selling Crossfire® Saga with Ireland, a searing tale of temptation, deception, and ice-cold vengeance.
Ireland Vidal is the third generation to control Vidal Records, and she's on track to lead the recording company to greater heights. She's the youngest of an affluent, prominent family headed by her eldest brother, Gideon Cross—one of the richest men in the world. Despite her siblings' outsized shadows, Ireland has carved her own identity. But the clever, stunning beauty with fierce tenacity and a heart of gold has yet to find a man with whom to share her life—someone who doesn't need her connections to be successful.
Then a chance meeting with Ronan Boudreaux sparks an irresistible attraction. He has it all: wealth, charm, a wickedly provocative talent for seduction, and he can hold his own against her powerful family. He offers Ireland everything she's ever wanted, but at what price?
Waiting in the wings, someone from the distant past bides his time until he can unleash his vendetta against the Vidals. He's got old scores to settle and when he sets his plans in motion, everything and everyone Ireland loves is in his crosshairs.
From the soaring penthouses of high-stakes Manhattan to the opulent mansions and mysterious bayous of Louisiana, Ireland draws readers back into the illustrious lives of the beloved Vidal/Cross family, where the only thing more dangerous than desire is falling in love.

It is great to be back in Sylvia Day’s Crossfire world again, and while it has been years since my last visit, I remembered how much I loved the series. I was excited for this book, and I loved the story, but I did not love the third-person point of view presentation of the story, while understanding it was her artistic choice and her reason, I still felt it took away some of the excitement of the story. Despite that, I stuck with it because I really got into the story and wanted more of Gideon and Eva, as well as Ireland and Ronan, and having one of my favorite narrators voicing Ireland helped too. Ireland, Gideon’s younger sister, is fierce and can be as ruthless as her brother with business and family. Working in her family business, Vidal Records, a business Gideon helped save, she learns all is not as it should be. Her love life is lacking, mainly because of her poor choice of men, men who use her to get something or somewhere. Then she meets him, Ronan Boudreaux, but she is over men and tells him just that, so she becomes his next challenge. With sizzling hot chemistry, drawn to each other like a moth to a flame, neither could resist the other, but that did not stop Ronan from wooing her to win over her heart and to get her where he wanted her. Not all is as it seems or who, and when Ireland learns of the deception, she thinks fast on her feet and tries to fix the damage that was done. It was interesting to learn who Ronan really was, what he was after and why, a well-laid plan, except he did not plan on Ireland or falling in love with her, but it may be too late for them. Besides the ongoing drama with the family business and the relationship drama with Ireland and Ronan, we get glimpses into Gideon and Eva’s life and the drama and danger they are facing. There are some interesting side characters and key players in this book, including Ronan’s family, Jules and Claudette, as well as Ireland’s family. And let’s talk about that ending, holy moly, an ending that leaves you hanging and wanting more, actually needing more. I am looking forward to what comes next in the Crossroads series and to see if my suspicions are right.
🎧📚🎧And for the fantastic audiobook listen performed by superbly talented Jeremy York, Jill Redfield, Ava Lucas and Nick Mondelli. Jeremy York and Jill Redfield return to reprise their roles as Gideon and Eva, and were fabulous in the roles. Ava Lucas was just as fabulous in Ireland’s role, showcasing her personality, her fierceness, strength and determination. I enjoyed Nick Mondelli’s take on Ronan, his character voice was fitting, accent and all, but wasn’t loving how he voiced some of the side/secondary characters, just wasn’t feeling it, but that was just me, clearly, like his co-narrators, he is a talented and versatile voice artist. They are entertaining storytellers and their captivating performance not only hooks you to the story, but it takes the story to another level.
