Publisher's Summary

Lincoln Hudson has just been handed the easiest job in the world. Babysit the spoiled son of a conservative senator, keep him out of trouble, and receive a six-figure paycheck. A paycheck he desperately needs. Wyatt’s father claims he needs Linc’s firm hand and discipline. One look at him and Linc agrees. Wyatt needs discipline.

Being the closeted gay son of a family values senator has left Wyatt Edgeworth with a reckless streak and a love of partying that just cost him eight months of his life and might cost his father his re-election. So now, he has a babysitter. A very sexy babysitter.

When Wyatt drunkenly tells Linc he’d make an excellent Daddy, they reach an understanding. Wyatt gets a Daddy and Linc gets a paycheck, then they go their separate ways. For this to work, discretion is key, but with a reporter dogging Wyatt’s every move, that might prove impossible.

Staying together was never an option, but with each passing day, their feelings only grow. Will they risk it all for what’s supposed to be a harmless fling?

Intoxicating is the first book in the Elite Protection Services Series and contains age-gap, Daddy-kink, and BDSM elements complete with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

Warning: This book contains scenes which may trigger some people including self-harm, suicide attempt, past and present physical abuse, and implied past sexual violence.

Emotionally Great

This story is filled with drama, humor, heat, and so much love. This is my first time listening to Liam DiCosimo, and he did such an amazing job with the narration.

Age gap, good story

Wyatt has never felt the love of a parent. He’s never felt seen, heard, valued, or accepted. His dad, a senator up for re-election, hates him...all because he’s gay. After crashing his vehicle while under the influence, he’s put on mandatory house arrest, ankle monitor included. His dad hires a bodyguard to ‘keep him in line’, but little did he know just how much this bodyguard was going to change the trajectory of Wyatt’s life. Lincoln has his own demons, and responsibilities that depend on getting paid for this job, but it doesn’t take him long to see what’s really going on. To make matters worse, both men feel a connection unlike any other. They both have needs that they discover the other just might be able to fill...at least for a little while. Nothing bad could happen, right? Wyatt’s friend, Charlie, steals the show quite a few times, throughout this book. She is feisty, packs a good punch, and is a lot of fun. She’s also very protective, and just might be the best friend Wyatt could ever ask for. She’s my favorite character in the book, too be honest. I bet she was fun to write. This is the first audiobook I have listened to, that Liam DiCosimo has narrated. While I did enjoy some of his narration, I did not enjoy the voice he gave Lincoln. It was not pleasant to listen to. I understand LD is new to narrating, and I see great potential in him. I am hoping he will either never use this voice again, or improve upon it. It sounded like someone who probably smoked 3-5 packs of cigarettes a day, and has ruined his throat and vocal chords. That’s the closest description I can think of, and it’s not exactly right. As pleasant as LD’s voice is the rest of the time, I know he can do better.

Liam is the perfect narrator for this book!

This may be a debut novel but you’d never know it! This is definitely a story I could not stop listening to! The back and forth snappy dialogue, the hot sex and the protective nature of Lincoln going all Daddy on Wyatt all lead to a perfect story. Can you tell I loved it!?! I’m so happy it’s only audiobook one and we get to enjoy being in this universe for awhile. Liam really brought this book to life! Loved his sexy voice for this story.

Excellent

I've read all of the Elite Protection Services novels and this first one is my favorite. It is just as good in audio as it is reading the actual ebook, maybe more so! The intensity that Liam DiCosimo brought to the table was so well done and I cannot wait to hear what he does with the next books in the series.

A whole experience

I hadn’t read the book before snagging it on audio so I wasn’t prepared for this emotional roller coaster. There were times I had to pause it because my heart was literally aching, & a few stray tears slide down my face. I’m not sure what I was expecting but I got so much more. Politics, A*hole parents, Blazing sex scenes, and MCs that were a lot broken but still very much capable of love.

Amazing listen!

I absolutely love this story so much! I love Wyatt and Linc! They have amazing chemistry together. This story is filled with drama, kink, humor, emotions and so much love. I love reading this story and now after listening to it I fell in love even more. Liam DiCosimo did such an amazing job with the narration. He brings all the emotions in this story and made me hate even more Wyatt's dad. Love this story!

An Engaging Story

The blurb sounded interesting, and it has some of my favorite tropes, so I was eager to sit down and listen to it. It did not disappoint! This new to me author and narrator hit it out of the ball park. I am beyond thrilled that this is the first book in the series. I cannot wait to listen to the rest. Hopefully, Liam DiCosimo will narrate them.

Super hot, emotional & thank goodness for humor

I love this book. I read it in print ages ago & was THRILLED when it was released in audio, so I could experience it again. When I first read it, it was so much more than I thought it would be. I was expecting sexy, sensual, hot - and it was - but it was dark sometimes too, emotionally wrought, and also had fantastic comic relief and really interesting side characters. I don't want to give much away, because I think it's just one of those books you need to dive into without knowing much about what will happen. There are some great, wonderful, lovely, lovable characters, along with characters so terrible that I'd like to think it's unrealistic that people that awful could ever exist, though obviously, there are such terrible people on this planet as that. There is a part of me that wonders if a relationship like theirs could last for decades, until they're old and gray, but one can hope. As for the audio performance, parts of it were really good. I appreciated that the voice chosen for Wyatt wasn't the over the top twink stereotype like some narrators might've chosen. It was a nice, fairly smooth tenor of your average 20-something basketcase of a guy. (I say that with affection). The rasp of Linc's voice isn't a favorite kind of voice for me, but will probably be hot for other people. Voice differentiation, emotion & pacing was good. The only negative was the voice chosen for Charlie, Wyatt's best friend; (and an awesome character). A lot of male narrators struggle with female characters & hers was definitely a struggle. BUT I still loved her as much as when I first read the book in print. I am hoping that the rest of the book comes out in audio - I'll be grabbing them right away. I received an ARC of this book and have happily, voluntarily given my review.

It’s always sweet and safe in Daddy’s arms

I’m really happy that authors are venturing more and more into daddy and boy books. I didn’t know what to expect when I started listening this book but this turned out to be an absolute delight. Wyatt and his father has a very toxic and unhealthy relationship. He acts out and deliberately makes his father mad at him as a show of rebellion and his father didn’t also didn’t try to understand him and listen him and hit him instead. He started to harm himself to escape from this hellhole and his father hired a new bodyguard for him so that nothing would happens until the lectionary. Wyatt thought it’s going to be another asshole his father hired but Lincoln is not only firm and very reliable, he knows how to take care of Wyatt. A hurt boy and a daddy who wants to take care of him cuts a match made in Heaven. Lots of hurt/comfort and sweet, heartwarming and careful caring from our considerate daddy. It was very satisfying to read. I really bags Wyatt’s father, he’s simply an awful human being. Thank god Lincoln was there to take care of our baby. Sweet, fluffy, heartwarming and some bittersweet angst. I think you couldn’t ask for more. The narrator is complex new to me but I thought Liam DiCosimo did a beautiful job narrating the story. I’m very looking forward to next book in the series. 4.5 it’s always sweet and safe in Daddy’s arms stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Audio rating Story - 4.75 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Narration - 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Performance - 4.25 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ Overall - 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Fantastic!!

This was fantastic!! Lincoln is hired to "babysit" Wyatt, a gay senators son. Intoxication is a perfect name for this story!! I listened to the whole thing in one setting, couldn't stop it!! This was my first story by the narrator Liam DiCosimo and he did a fantastic job!!

Checks lots of boxes

This book checks multiple boxes for me bodyguard falls for the person he is designated to protect, Daddy/boy, age gap, light BDSM and political/media difficulties that necessitate keeping a relationship secret. James brings them together in expert fashion. Wyatt is clearly lost but does not come off as an unlikeable brat as many of these types of characters can. Lincoln is strong but again, not a rigid alpha male. Both men have flaws that make them perfect for each other and as the reader I desperately wanted them to get their HEA. Liam DeCosimo is a new narrator/performer for me but he does an excellent job with all these characters. His voice is warm and flexible, he gets all the emotional beats just right and it was a pleasure to listen to him for long periods.

Super sweet

Onley James did a great job with the story. Story was well balanced although kink and more serious issues are part of the story it does not overwhelm the romance part. Was extremely happy Wyatt & Linc got what they wanted and needed. Liam DiCosimo might be new to me but his narration is top class, do love it when the narrator makes the story even more enjoyable. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Good start to the series!

Overall  ~ 4.25 Stars! Story ~ 4.5 Stars Narrator ~ 4 Stars As daddy kink books go, this was a good one. There was a lot of chemistry between Wyatt and Linc and I liked that the two of them were very supportive of each other. My heart broke for Wyatt, the way his poor excuse for his father treated him was horrible and explained why he acted up so much before meeting Linc. And Linc, well, I felt bad that his PTSD was so bad sometimes. I really liked that Wyatt, being so young, actually went and googled what to do to help him when he had one of his episodes. Despite their age difference, I thought they were very well-suited for each other. This was my first book by Onley James and the first in this series, and as such, it was pretty good, well-written, and engaging and hot and left me wanting more, which is always a good thing.  While I enjoyed most of the different voices the narrator used and the emotions he conveyed with his voice, I was disappointed by Linc's. It was too raspy, not exactly as sexy as I figured it would be. Still, the performance was good and I have no trouble recommending this audiobook.

Great listen!

Linc takes on the job of “babysitting” Wyatt from Wyatt’s father and thinks that it’ll be easy money babysitting a bratty 22 year old. Although Wyatt comes across as bratty (and really he is a bit of a brat but for good reason as the book explains to us). Linc is a Daddy...and this is what Wyatt needs. Someone to love and protect him. I love how protective Linc is of Wyatt. With Wyatt I love how even through everything that happened to him, and the way he was originally attempting to cope with what happened to him (and how his father was - I REALLY hate his father!!!). I feel so much for what Wyatt goes through and how he spirals really bad but he also fights and gets through things. Liam DiCosmio’s narration is great - really brought the characters and the story to life. I need to listen to more audiobooks books by them because I loved it that much. A must listen!

Loved it!!!

I first read book 4 in this series and decided I wanted to read the rest, when I saw book 1 was on audible i was really happy. Linc's voice took me awhile to get use to, at first I thought it was too deep but the more I listened the more the voice fit his character. Wyatt, he broke my heart, everything he'd been through and everything his father was still doing made all my emotions come to the surface. I think the narrator did a fantastic portraying the emotions of each character. Im looking forward to reading books 2 & 3

Love the story, slight miss on the character voice

Wow, what a well written and, at times, hard hitting story. Definitely read for trigger warnings before diving into this book as there area few different things going on with the main characters. Wyatt can seem like quite the spoiled brat but from the very first chapter, we can understand why he acts as he does to try and survive in the life he's been pushed into. Lincoln takes a moment to adjust to who he thought he would be babysitting and the young man that needs his care and attention. A perfect relationship for them both is born out of need and desire and their attraction and connection is immediate from the moment they meet. There is of course, an adjustment period as they have to live together for six months but an understanding between the two men makes life so much better for each of them. We have the perfect bad guy who, along with Lincoln, I'd really like to lay out. Onley's character development really brings the readers emotion into the story, engaging with the positive and negative words and events that the characters experience. I was right there with them on the roller-coaster that both MC's go through throughout the book. There are some brilliant side characters that both help and hinder Wyatt and Lincoln, my favourite probably being Charlie, Wyatt's best friend. The things she comes out with had me laughing out loud. Cannot recommend this book enough and I'm really excited for the next. I loved how the story worked it's way along for both men to grow and experience actual happiness and support. The narration was really good but was just let down for me with Linc's voice. I think Liam was going for raspy/gritty but it just didn't work well for me and was a little monotone in the delivery for that character. Everyone else was really brought to life, especially Charlie and the Senator. If anything, hearing the Senator's voice made me dislike him even more! I was pulled into the story through Liam's narration and he brought a lot to life, bringing out the hard hitting moments for Wyatt as he struggles to deal with everything going on in his life but is well balanced with how Linc calms him and brings him happiness.

An Intoxicating and Enthralling Romance

Intoxicating is the first book in the Elite Protection Services, a contemporary romance series centered around the bodyguard/client trope. This is my second time reading the book, and I loved it the second time around just as much as the first. Lincoln Hudson is a gruff, dominant man who’s just retired from the Marines. He’s transitioned into working as a bodyguard on the civilian sector. His first bodyguard job should be pretty easy: he’s babysitting the spoiled son for a conservative Senator. However, not everything is as it seems, and under Wyatt Edgeworth’s snark and sass is a boy desperate for the love and care of a Daddy Dom. Intoxicating is exactly that: intoxicating. The story pulls at my heartstring and made me melt as Lincoln and Wyatt fell in love. Plus, the sex was hot and kinky with a lot of emotional tenderness mixed in. The plot is fast paced with a lot of funny moments that had me snorting with amusement. Liam DiCosimo narrated the audiobook. This was my first audiobook that I heard Liam narrate, and I was impressed with vocal range. I loved how gruff he made Lincoln and all the characters felt distinct. There were a few points where I think Liam was so focused on keeping Lincoln’s voice gruff and sexy, that he didn’t infuse enough emotional inflections in it. However, that is a minor critique and one that did not detract from the overall audiobook at all. It was easy to follow along in the book and I quite enjoyed the entire narration and audiobook experience. I will definitely listen to other books Liam DiCosimo narrates and look forward to the rest of the Elite Protection Services series to come out in audio.

Amazing

Wyatt and Linc’s story was one big emotional roller coaster. Wyatt needed someone to care and Linc was the right man for the job. The emotional and physical abuse Wyatt suffered was utterly heartbreaking. Great story! The narrator was amazing and I loved how he changed his voice for different characters.
