Publisher's summary

Ultimately, the decisions of the admirals were the Viceroy's responsibility. Could the losses have been avoided?

Down on Alfheim, the situation was dire. Some brave men and women had to be left behind for the greater good. Viceroy Miles Hunt, gutted by the losses, needed to stay focused. A Titan-class warship, the Freedom, could be the key to victory, if it were fully operational with a trained crew.

It was not. Could Miles find another ally to be a wild card?

Sam, the medical Synth, faced something the programmers never expected: a moment where the only option was to break free of the code. The battle was fierce and there didn't seem to be a way out, until Sam came up with a plan.

Would it save them?

The Republic needed a big win, one that would force peace, but they might have underestimated the resolve of the Zodarks. The superships were on the way, but time wasn't on their side.

The tide of the war had shifted.

At the point where I’m almost done with the series

I really like the series, the use of Special Operations and the main characters are brought to life by the pen, making this a great series.
If you’re a fan of science fiction this book has it all. Good guys really bring out what is right and what is wrong so our heroes know right is might.

Engaging

I couldn’t stop listening to this book. The storyline and characters were amazing and very well developed. The descriptions were clear enough that I felt like I was actually there. Wow… keep it coming James.

a good read

The story was fast moving, yet allowed the reader to get to know the characters, and like them. I looked forward to my two hour a day book time.

Spectacular! BUT…

Val·kyr·ie
/valˈkirē,ˈvalˌkirē/
Learn to pronounce it. It’s not Valcurry, it’s Valkyrie, a noun from SCANDINAVIAN dissent Also, its each of Odin's twelve handmaidens who would hand pick the slain warriors of their choice from the battlefield, taking them to Valhalla. In summery, it’s Valkyrie, and it has nothing to do with curry or the pronunciation there of. Also Jon, I️ hear some good voices in there, but the stagnant monotone way it’s delivered takes away from listening and the story overall. And one more thing, it’s Valkyrie. God bless America and her interests 😂

Boring

After eight chapters of very boring script, I had to stop. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn’t…

Enjoyable

Much of the material is a filler offering color to the backstories of characters and the worlds in play. Gets tedious at times but is still an overall enjoyable listen. Wonderfully gifted voice artist carries it.

Entertaining and detailed

I read the reviews saying that it drags on and was a bit on the apprehensive side. However, in my opinion the book is actually full of detail and color, which is what I enjoy most instead of a more fast paced story line (e.g. Marvel Comics). If that is what you enjoy, I very much recommend this book, and personally am awaiting for the next installment to the series.

Drags on

This story drags on and on. Expect 4 to 5 hours between meaningful story, and filler. Expect new characters out of the blue, characters you may hear from again or not.
