Indeed, Haver-Towne has a most colorful history: A warlock who sires children with his own daughter. A witch whose sheer diabolism staggers even the most demented. Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

Fast paced and not for the weak stomached
Took off fast and never stopped. No down time in this novel from Wade Garrett. Some very creative characters who definitely know how to torture. This sexually amped story leaves nothing to be imagined. I did like how one of the characters evolved through the story to be almost just as sick as his co-conspirator, or should I say “his boss.” Funny dialogues at times but I feel that brought out just how sick these clowns were. Creative, well written, and not for the weak stomached.

A Great Book for the Extreme Horror Fan
When it come to writing extreme horror mixed with dar humor and politically incorrectness Wade H. Garrett does not disappoint.
The moral to the story is Don't be an ass to people who are different, look different because if you are you just might end up on the wrong end of an insane persons agenda . Rocky and Twigg are 2 guys who's life was dealt at the Cedar Hill Sanitarium and when they escaped all hell broke loose for the poor bastards who made fun of Rocky and Twigg. A mind blowing story full of gore and carnage and good old extreme horror .

Dismally Boring
And I don't mean the content, I mean how it was presented.
This reads like it was written by a teenager with only a basic vocabulary. The splatter and rape and gore are sadly boring due to how they're presented. The writing is basic if even passable in places with the author using the same words over and over and over and over. I can't tell you how many fucking times I heard : washed over. Or overwhelmed by. Or consumed with. In only the first fucking two hours. It's the author's go to fucking phrase.
The scenarios are disjointed and the characters are shells, even the villains who almost seem like they'll be at least interestingly brutal but wind up just falling short of even basic creativity.
I'm a big fan of gràphic horror, but this is so underwriten its impossible to enjoy even with the narrator giving it his all and he really does.
I'm embarrassed this level of under descriptive, novice work was able to be published. It's not shocking, even though the subject matter it's portraying is. Somehow this shit ends up being a bore.
If you want extreme splatterpunk find another author.

The most twisted book I have ever listen to
I got a lot of laughs out of this book. But also found myself wondering what the writer was thinking. This is stuff nightmares are made of. And although I enjoyed it. I found that some of it made me want to fast foward a bit to get past it. But I listen to the whole book and even told family members to listen to it. It will make you laugh a lot. While other parts will leave you going omg that's so sick. And omg no way. What was this writer thinking when he put this into words. I would say get it listen to it. But have a very strong will to listen to it all. Because you have to really want to listen to get into the book. It is not at all for the weak. Not at all for someone who will judge but more of a sick, twisted, fun book. That will leave you wondering what the hell you just listen to.

The world is full of assholes - Twig
You know that feeling when you’ve eaten too much cotton candy and gone on a carnival ride? That’s how this book made me feel. It was so much fun but made me feel like throwing up. This is easily Wade’s best and most entertaining book to date, although some would argue that I should be locked up in the Cedar Hill Sanitarium for thinking this is in any way entertaining.
I consider myself a seasoned extreme horror reader, but without hesitation, I can say this road trip of debauchery has some of the sickest and most disgusting yet inventive gore scenes I’ve read. There’s also the darkest shade of black humour which could also be used as evidence towards my Cedar Hill incarceration. While the focus of the book is on the gore scenes, there’s enough character development of the two leads to keep it from getting boring and repetitive.
What elevated this to the next level was Tom Beyer’s reading on the audiobook of this novel. Tom’s gleeful narration of such disgusting content feels like being read a children’s bedtime story for damaged adults. I was impressed with the varied repertoire of voices he used where each character was distinctly different and identifiable. But, learn from my mistakes and keep the windows up when listening to this in your car.
Although I received this for free from Wade, I would happily pay for it and highly recommend it to others looking to dip into the deep end of the gore pool.

If there are any limits for what is considered decent in literature, this piece of work ignores them! Garrett throws every taboo at the listener that he can get away with. Resulting in a listen that will almost make you retch in parts. A real hoot , I can not wait for a sequel or prequal.

Does not disappoint!
Mr. Garrett's usual theme of extreme gore and blood-soaked torment. Even if you're a seasoned gore/horror fan, this audio book still has many disturbing moments. This is the third audio book I have by wade Garrett, and is by far my favourite, made so by the amazing narrator, he voices each character with their own accent and vocal tones, the main protagonists "twig" and "rocky" sound just as my imagination sounded when I read the book format.
As for content, this is wade Garrett at his best/worst depending on how you view his material, I don't know who rattled his cage before he wrote this, but they sure got him thinking...
if the marquis de sade read this book, he'd think it depraved.
well done, Mr Garrett, another great offering... now... can we get back onto sorting Barry out?
