I gasp as my body curls toward Brennus like a flower to the sun, for the pleasure of it. He holds me close to him. His nose grazes the length of my neck. He breathes me in. I feel the roar and rush of my heartbeat. I'm his toy; his energy streams into me. He winds the invisible key in my back, and the euphoria ratchets and coils inside of me.

Another wicked surge of energy flows from him into me. Pain. Pleasure. Bliss. My jaw unclenches as my lips part. I make a small, breathy sound as we dance. Brennus responds with something close to a growl. "Ye're killing me, mo chroí," he murmurs. His hand moves down my back, infusing me with a golden glow of power. My wings punch violently from me, tearing a hole in my day dress. They spread wide, like a red stain beyond my pale skin. I'm dancing now for the thrill of it. I follow his lead.

Change in Narration

I love the story, however when listening to this book after the first 4 I was disappointed to discover the voices of the characters had changed from the first 4.

Very Surprised!

I was very surprised, but then again I should of known. Everything I have read in the past written by Amy Bartol has been really well written.

Thank you for the wonderful ride!

This series is now a favorite! It offered hours of endless love, action and laughter. I was transported to another world free of and worries or cares. I pray that Mrs Bartol will continue this series bc I believe there are still many stores left untold!!! May the heavens grant me that miracle! Lol 😂

Best Series I've read in a while!

I simply adored the story line and the unique view to such old stories. The "not vampires" were my favorite!
Around book three I wanted to strangle the Heroin because I'm Twilight scarred hahah. I clearly am not comparing the two- just to say I loathe a wispy washy love story.
But!
These sagas are poles apart and the redemption story as Buju says- "the full has never been told".
Love it love it love it!
The last book had me in tears whilst jogging yesterday morning.
A brilliant writer and the narrators is amazing with her accents!
