Story
After discovering an indefensible weapon, Liam thought he had the Kroerak invaders on the ropes. But as he and his crew root out the last alien strongholds, he comes face to face with the staggering damage the invaders wreaked on the crew’s now-inhospitable homeworlds. When the battle-scarred survivors call on Liam to lead their broken civilization out of the rubble, he can’t bear to turn them away. But Liam knows better than anyone, if he doesn’t squash the source of the infestation, the Kroerak forces will be back - and next time, there will nothing to stop them.

If Nick James is right, the Tipperary solar system is about to become the busiest trading hub in the galaxy. To sweeten the pot, the cloud-city of Lèger Nuage is offering free warehouse space to qualified traders. Of course, nothing's as simple as it seems. Just like Earth's Old West, the Tipperary system is as full of promise as it is Buccaneers who are happy to prey on the weak. No one expects it to be easy, but deceit, piracy, and murder kindle the pioneering spirit in each of them.

/sigh
Book 15 was the last real privateer book. Book 16 and now 17 have an entirely different feel. Almost as if it was written by a different person. Or as if the author ran out of story board during book 15 and instead of ending a great series, he was still broke and figured he'd try a money grab. The difference between all books up to 15 and those that follow is like the difference between 'ST:TNG' and 'ST:Discovery'

Book 17 ??? - Author still keeps the story moving.
hard to believe it's book 17. Author has kept the plot moving without too many plot line contortions. Last book got a bit bit weird but it did serve to push the story in s slightly different direction and now there's a number of options for future books. Really like the start from nothing and make stuff happen approach that the characters have. That and the 'break their shit and take their stuff' privateer aspect. Another good listen. Hope the author doesn't grow weary of this series.

See You on the Other Side
This is what happens when you fall asleep for 20 years and come back to find the galaxy has gone to shite. I was not a fan of the previous book, but this book has moved the series along quite nicely to the next level, albeit a little on the hostile side, and I loved it.
