Publisher's Summary

A troubled widow and a dashing war hero clash in this compelling regency romance.

There are worse things than being spectacularly jilted. Losing a leg, for instance, or getting shot - well, perhaps not: The bullet Alistair took fighting in the peninsula never landed him in London's scandal sheets.

Captain Alistair Beaumaris never dreamed he'd be tossed over by Lord Fairchild's bastard daughter, losing both her and her fortune - a singular humiliation that should have taught him a lesson. But when your luck is out, you do foolish things, like quarrel with your oldest friend. Or mistake a perfectly respectable widow for a lady of easy virtue.

Unfortunately, that kind of blunder needs fixing. Yielding to his troublesome conscience, Alistair tracks down the elusive widow...but the only thing he doesn't find is an easy way out.

Another great listen from Jaima Fixen.

This is the second book in this series. I really enjoy Jaima's writing and her idea for stories. There is romance but not in-your-face-steamy romance, just soft with a little kissing. Sometimes you don't need to have things explained in detail but use your imagination instead. If you enjoy a clean, light story, this one might be for you.

Refreshing take on Regency Romance.

Thoroughly enjoyed the plot, characters and recreation of the Regency period. I read both book one and two straight through and didn’t hit any dragging sections. Highly recommended!

Great story with strong charactors

This story picks up after book 1, Fair Child, so I highly recommend reading that one first. I loved this book because we learn that there is much more to Alistair than previously thought. He won my heart! This leading man overcame hardship and showed grit and honor throughout the book. Anna, the leading lady, took awhile to like but, by the end, she showed her strength and loyalty. It was a well written story with depth. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

incognita

What did you like best about Incognita? What did you like least?

the short story was just too short, it suddenly ended and i was so surprised, that i just sat there in shock.

Do you think Incognita needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Dragged on and on

The first book was okay, but the second (this one) was so repetitive. The h repeats the same thought over and over again, I started skipping ahead. I also thought the book was all over the place, felt like 2-smaller books in one.
The details in the story were a bit much. I don't need to know every single color, taste, or movement that takes place, especially when it's not supporting the story development.
