Over the past year, she’s had to endure more pain and suffering than most people are asked to bear in their lifetimes. She’s a pariah, an outcast, a ghost. She’s also never been one to take shit lying down, though...despite what half the football team might say. With only 168 days left of the school year, it won’t be long until graduation, and Silver’s planning on skipping town and leaving Raleigh firmly in her rearview mirror. Until he comes along....

Story
A decorated knight for Richard the Lionheart and an ally of the House of de Lohr, Sir Garret de Moray was a man described as cold, intimidating, foreboding. A man with eyes as black as night. Receiving a royal appointment as Captain of the Household Guard, there was no man more qualified or prepared for the role because on the sands of the Holy Land where Garret went on Richard’s great quest, the Christian armies whispered of a knight whose wisdom was ancient. Some wondered if he was the walking dead, an immortal soul who had lived many lifetimes over, because his skill and power exceeded earthly restraints. Kronos, they called him. The father of the gods. Then came a lady without hope…

Publisher's Summary
In Sacrum Umbra you were treated to tales from the shadows, the literary darkness that lives within all of us. Here you will find tales of another sort, the type you might find in the less wholesome end of the collective unconscious and the very depths of the gut. From stories of childhood gone horribly wrong to sex and madness with an impossible cost, this is where you'll find the more gruesome end of the spectrum.

Totally into Clowns Now
This was an interesting series of short stories. This starts out fairly tame, a bit dark, but quickly turns mad. The stories progressively get more and more twisted and end up with crazy pornstar killings. This really has a nice range of stories that are all unique. Growing pains and Funny Business were by far my favorites. Both of those stories disgusted me and kept me glued to my headphones. Completely crazy stories that really were the stars of the book. Feel completely different about clowns now and kinda want to go camping.
Paul Bert really brings these stories to life. Each story sounded like it was voiced slightly different and made for a much more unique narration. He definitely brings his unique character voices to each story and sounded like he was performing a play versus reading a book.

The first story was pretty okay but the stories to follow are more snuff and porn than actual horror. To make things worse there's little to no imagery. I regret this purchase.

Great Collection
This is a great collection of horror stories, read by a narrator who used a wide range of character voices ad styles. I will likely listen to it again. Riding the Caterpillar was my favorite story in the collection.
