Publisher's Summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury comes a brand-new Baxter Family novel about a beloved high school principal who starts a Bible study to improve the lives of his struggling students, only to become the national focus of a controversial lawsuit.

Hamilton High principal Wendell Quinn is tired of the violence, drug abuse, teen pregnancies, and low expectations at his Indianapolis school. A single father of four, Quinn is a Christian and a family man. He wants to see change in his community, so he starts a voluntary after-school Bible study and prayer program. He knows he is risking his job by leading the program, but the high turnout at every meeting encourages him.

A year later, violence and gang activity are down, test scores are up, and drug use and teen pregnancy have plummeted. The program is clearly working - until one parent calls the press. Now Quinn faces a lawsuit that could ruin everything.

With a storm of national attention and criticism, Quinn is at a crossroads - he must choose whether to cave in and shut down the program or stand up for himself and his students. The battle comes with a high cost, and Quinn wants just one attorney on his side for this fight: Luke Baxter.

In This Moment is an inspiring, relevant story about the nuances of religious freedom and how a group of determined people just might restore the meaning of faith in today's culture.

Great Book

The story was wonderful. Words from this book can teach a lot of lessons if you study them from the Bible. The performance could be a little better but it doesn’t take away from the book. Overall I enjoyed the book and can apply so much of it to my life. Way to go Karen, you did it again !

Wow!

I have always enjoyed reading Karen's books, but I must say she really outdid herself this time. Such a wonderful story and beautifully written. I would definitely love to see this as a movie. The narrators are fabulous too. Thank you all.

Too Much Repitition

This was my first Karen Kingsbury title. I didn't make it very far into this book before I had to throw in the towel. In the first few chapters it seemed like the same information was repeated multiple times. For example, the author belabored the fact that the lead female character has anxiety. No need to continue to drive that point home repeatedly.

I've heard that this author is amazing, maybe so, but this book didn't grab me in the way I was expecting. Instead, I found myself thinking "Ok, I get it. Lets move on with the story".

Karen at her best!

There are many “Moments” that make this book so compelling that you can’t stop listening. There is action, adventure, deep faith, sadness, romance, and all told in a way only Karen Kingsbury can do. The narrators do a wonderful job and make the book even better. This is a must listen or read!

I listened to December 23-26, 2020

As I listened I kept thinking if us Christians don't speak up in a loving manner, we are very close to losing our 1st amendment rights. This book encouraged me to speak up! Share what Jesus is doing in my day to day life. And to do my best to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around me.

REMEMBER our FREEDOM cost someone... but the greatest debit had been paid by Jesus Christ! HE gave HIS life so we could spend eternity with HIM.

Relevant, engaging, TRUTH

Incredible read! Already mentioned to book club that they need to read it. I’m ready to reread it with them and then do the guided questions at the end with them. Already have several people in mind to gift it to as well!

Defending our Rights

This book really hit home as I see our Right to have God in our lives dwindling before our very eyes in the USA. Hearing this story made me feel stronger to take a stand for that Right more often.

In this moment

A good story. Hard to imagine America has really gone that far against God, in law circles. Needed to be publicised.
