Story
Something evil lurks in the woods, on the outskirts of town. It lives in the shadows and strikes without warning, always with the same objective: to mutilate, kill and devour its victim. A monster with a cannibalistic craving for human flesh and a sexual appetite which, seemingly, cannot be satiated. No victim is left alive, and the scattered remains divulge very little to the police pathologist.

Story
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

Made it to the end this time.
This was my second attempt to listen to this book. First time I didn't get past an hour because of the narrator. This time I finished it. Not sure if the male narrator ever met an American woman, or I just didn't realize we all spoke in either a breathy or whiney voice. His performance for a British woman was fabulous. His interpretation of "seedy folk" sounded like Scooby-Doo. Totally cracked me up, though I'm not sure that was really his fault, due to the material he had to work with. The story has so much potential. It had really great parts when it came to horror and action, but when the author attempted to depict typical adult interaction and conversation, he dropped the social ball. I'm guessing the author was an only child that lived far from civilization and had one 1980s Penthouse magazine to reference sexual encounters. I would take a chance again, on both author and narrator, if I found something written/performed a couple of years after this book, but this one is going down in the vault of "a past hookup that I hope won't recognize me as I walk by".

HORRIBLE!!!
Right off the bat, be aware that I consider myself to be one of the biggest werewolf fans out there. Books, films, audios.. they’re my go to monster!
That said, I gave this a shot. Huge mistake. The writing honest to God really does come across as if it were written by an 8th grader. The women are constantly horny, the men are all described as basically Calvin Klein models… & yeah, the women are SO horny in it, that mom & daughter are literally both trying (while in each others presence…) to hook up w/ the new guy next door that they’ve never met. It was straight from the mind of a 14 yr. old boy that …yeah…
Author has absolutely ZERO ability to write realistic women, older or younger. Every aspect was so bad that I caught myself feeling embarrassed even though I was alone.
To make it short, just imagine a pervy teenage boy, that has never written anything before… & imagine he writes this book. Yes, it’s exactly what you’d expect…
What made this my first audible book that I couldn’t pass the 50% mark..? The narrator… God in Heaven it was cringe. His ability to voice women…? Let’s just say there was zero ability!!! It was so bad that it actually constantly took me out of the story. He came across as very unpolished. I had to stop… ever listen to some of those, “scary story/creepypasta” guys on YouTube that narrate scary stories? Know the ones that just sound akin to that guy you know whose voice just hurts your brain??? Yeah, his voice is very similar.
The entire project … nothing in my 200+ audiobook downloads have felt even CLOSE to this as far as feeling totally armature.
Total mess… most regrettable purchase I’ve made on here ever, & it’s not close. I refuse to believe these 5* reviews of this are honest/real. They either got it for free, or were given some sorta kickback. I’ll watch/listen to ANYTHING werewolf related… & you honestly couldn’t pay me $50 to listen to this book 100% through… take that for what it’s worth….

In Sheep’s Clothing
This audio book was recommended to me by my book club. I have never heard of this author before so I looked him up and was quite surprise that he had a substantial amount of material out there. I decide Oh! What the heck, I will give him a chance. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that I found this to be quite an interesting story with a vast array of colorful characters. Yes, some was over the top. But it is a werewolf book and that was to be expected. Overall, I think the author put together a satisfying story that was worth my time. And the narration was entertaining and funny at times.

Awful awful awful
Lee Minter should be legally barred from ever narrating another book. He is, without a doubt, The WORST narrator I have ever had the misfortune of listening to. He is wooden, monotone and made the one female protagonist sound like a porn star. The book itself wasn’t much better. I strongly recommend skipping this one it truly is that bad.

Great Read!
An excellent book by Lee J. Minter. Once in a while, a book appears that enables us to forgive the author for all the sleepless nights, reading non-quality books, and this is precisely what this book made me feel. Anyone who reads "IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" will know these highs and lows well. Once again, Lee J. Minter has proven that he is a genius when it comes to writing deadly horror+fantasy. His 1st book out of seven "IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" Minter takes the reader on a journey that is rich in horror and suspense and full of life. I like to look at the reviews before I write my own. Sadly, the reviews for this book half give it away. I am not going to do that. This novel is a GREAT BOOK! And it would be even better if you just went out and listened to the book and continued from there until you get to here. Lee J. Minter has a superb way of describing things enabling the reader to visualize exactly what the protagonist is going through and where they are. The creation of these mental images brings a reader directly into the storyline. It is incredibly engaging. Heh...after the first few chapters, I discovered that I was in love with this book. A thoroughly enjoyable, escapist kind of book. Worthy of reading more than once. For me, this story explored the imaginations of horror and ultimate resolutions that the three-dimensional characters he vividly described faced. But no spoilers from me! Read it or listen to it, you will not be disappointed.
