Great WWII love story

I really enjoyed this true life, multi generational, story about love during WWII and the years after. It is also a coming of age story for the daughter as she learns about her mother’s hidden love for her first husband. The author brings to life conversations with her mother. The author/ narrator did an excellent job reading and the sound quality was very good. I was given a free copy of this audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review

A wonderful listening experience

This is my first time with an audiobook and it couldn’t have been better. The narrator’s voice was clear, and the sound quality excellent. Ms. Taylor had all the perfect nuances. I found the story to be very well researched and interesting. Truly, a different kind of love story. If you’d like to know more, read the reviews on Amazon. Great Read

If My Heart Had Wings: A World War II Love Story was a great read by Nadine Taylor. This was a true story of star-crossed love, a brutal war, and family secrets that get unraveled. Nina was 22 years old during World War II when she found out that her husband has died overseas. She is running from her grief and decides to upend her life. She moved across the country and remarried very soon. When her daughter is a teenager she discovers a wedding photo that she never seen before and wasn’t of her mother and father. She starts to question things as her mother tells her of a life she never knew existed. I enjoyed reading this great true story.

A well written story - I loved it!
Nadine puts so much expression into this amazing true story! I enjoyed it so much I listened to it twice. A real love story with so many twist and turns making the listener want more! I would recommend this fabulous book. A rare gem! Suzlily 💓

Such a compelling and interesting story! Love, loss, mystery and intrigue - highly recommend! The narration is superb.

Poignant wonderful story rich in historical detail!

As a senior citizen I really appreciated that the sound quality and diction were so easy to follow. I really enjoyed the story.
I found myself on a personal very American journey led by the warm expressive voice of the narrator, who is also the author. The clarity of her spoken words gave me insight into her family’s complex experiences starting just before WWII. I soon realized that she gave voice to my family’s story as well. The powerful connections of generations across time , and most especially, the deep mother-daughter bonds, are beautifully laid out in this telling.

Great story, great narration, great EVERYTHING!

I love this book! I loved it in written form (yes, I also read it), and I love it equally in audio form. It's a big, broad, beautiful, generation-spanning story, written by a very accomplished writer--and who knew she'd be a pro-level narrator, as well! Let's face it: Nadine Taylor has got talent, coupled with ability. And that, in my opinion, is the perfect one-two punch that all writers need to make their stories believable, readable (or in this case, listenable), and perhaps most important, enjoyable. Kudos to Nadine for delivering almost six hours of audio listening heaven to your followers and fans! We want more.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to "If My Heart Had Wings," Nadine Taylor's WWII tale of romance, tragedy and second chances, told from the perspective of a devoted daughter. Her engaging narration is upbeat and heartfelt, as multi-layered as the story she shares so honestly with listeners. As a narrator, Taylor holds our attention throughout, taking a deep dive into family secrets with grace and humor. Vocal performance and sound quality are both excellent. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get lost in a bygone era full of courage and personal survival.
