love the male narrator

The story was good and U am a fan of Jakobi Diem which is why I finished the book despite the female narrator. Her tone was too hard and lacked emotion.

It’s the Female lead

I couldn’t finish the book because (no disrespect to the female lead) the female leads portrayals of the different characters when she changed her voice were forced. It was hard to focus on what she was saying. I will read the book. Jakobi Diem is amazing in this book.

YOU RUINED IT

The book had a chance with just one narrator, you added the female and everything can tumbling down. Mr. Diem can narrate direction for taking cold medicine and I'm in love, This match was no a good one. NO MORE TALK!!!!! The performance rating was for Mr. Diem.

I don’t give reviews but…

So look, I gave this book a chance because the author and I have the same first name (spelled differently) and because I love to listen to Jakobi, but I had THEE MOST difficult time listening to the woman narrator. Not sure if she was told to be extremely dry and to portray the men as being “slow” but it seriously was a huge S T R U G G L E to listen to her. The storyline was ok but baby girl DID NOT do the book nor the characters justice. I’m not saying she needs to throw in the towel just yet, but she most definitely needs some training/assistance. This was a rough listen.

Okay story line, she was childish though

I sound care for the female narrator imitating Rens voice towards the middle and end of the novel. It sounded like she was slow and struggling. I also didn't like how Kayla tried to put blame on Ren like she didn't hide a whole major secret. How do you expect somebody to fight for you knowing their past and knowing you lies about a whole situation. He worked hard to win her only to be crapped on by her. Glad they figured it out by the end but I felt so bad for Ren.

Long

I did not listen to the whole book. It did not keep my interest at all. It’s a lot a narration and the accents were not good.

Weak story

If you’re looking for multiple sex scenes, they’re here. I don’t mind them, but I got bored with the repetition. Without these scenes the story line was weak.

Accent!!!!

Could not finish this story. I was really interested but the British to American accent is terrible & distracting.

Loved this

This is the first YA romance that I've listened to and my first audible book. The story was gripping and exciting.

Awesome!

I loved every word of this book! What exquisite writing! I experienced every emotion right along with these characters! Also, Jakobi Diem's performance of Ren was breathtakingly beautiful. I can still hear his voice in my ears. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Bland girl meets boy loses boy, gets boy back bore

Your standard girl meets boy, looses boy, gets boy back Love story. pretty sickening

its pretty standard no surprises.reads like a teenage girls obsession filled journal of lust and sex...Long winded inner monologues and some unbelievable dialogues. The whole world is this one relationship nothing else is given any time big things going
on In the background but are never given any attention..it's all an obsessive relationship......... Was bored absolutely stupid half way through but found myself reluctantly keep listening to get to the happily ever after...

Just Wowwww!!!!

This book is sooooo intensely beautiful, I’m a hopeful soppy romantic and though the twists and turns are heart wrenching the overarching connection between the main characters is so mesmerising the anticipation for the resolve of the story is mind blowing!

Not your average love story!

This could've easily been one of your typical romance novels, with the all too familiar love at first sight/meet cute tropes and no substance - but it was far from it! A really enjoyable read that shows the complexities and messiness of love, and explores the intimacy of sex without crossing into erotica. I finished it within a couple of days because being a black creative in London myself, Kayla (Jessye Romeo) was really believable and I resonated with her character. It was my first time listening to this narrator and I hope to hear more from her! P.S. For balance, check out Amazon for more reviews, the American .com audible reviewers always seem to struggle with/dislike British narration especially for black characters.

Good

loved the story line. the Jacobi and Jessye combination was unique and beautiful. I however did not like the male voice version by Jessye they sound slow and dump. it was even worse when they were both in the same room. supposedly speaking to each other I couldn't tell them apart. overall love British meets American plot.❤
