He’s everything she never knew she wanted.

When Venus embarked on a luxury cruise, she never expected to rescue a young Promethean demigod—or that he’d bind her as his guardian. Now stranded on his primitive planet, she agrees to a temporary marriage of convenience to Atlas, the Commander of the Black Guard, in exchange for protection against those hellbent on seizing control of the youngling in her care. Against all odds, she finds herself falling for the sweet and honorable Atlas—antennae, scales, wings and all.

She is his light, his impossible dream.

As an Achromatic Promethean, Atlas has accepted that his society considers him lower than dirt, until the arrival of a fascinating human turns his life upside down. When forced to pick a husband, Venus not only chooses him over the elite, but treats him with a kindness and respect he’s never experienced. As they join forces to thwart a threat to his people, her intelligence, beauty, and fierceness soon stir in him desires forbidden to his kind.

In their dire race against the clock, will Venus and Atlas solve the mystery of the impending cataclysm, or will it destroy everything, including the impossible happiness blossoming between them?

Loved the whole story in this one. Was in the edge of my seat and the romance was very sweet. Narrator was fabulous as always.

A standout in an already great sci-fi romance series

I love the narrator’s voice. While I love all the stories written by Regine Abel, this one brought tears to my eyes. I will listen to certain parts over and over again.

I’m not saying that it is written by AI, it just sounds like it was written by AI. When it comes to monster romance the author is on the right track. Theoretically, it’s everything I want in a monster romance. But the writing… It’s not great. I wanted to like this. Holy crap it was so hard to get through like the first five or six chapters.

I’m also super interested if the author ever gets feedback from actual people on her writing. It feels like she published a first draft. I also found some of the aspects of writing about the monochromatic moth people, for instance, like calling them, the blacks and the whites, a bit strange in the wording. Not to mention that the story is a topic of segregation, and the main moth man of the story marries a black American woman. In fact, there was a lot of instances where the wording was just kind of… WTF. And that’s why I feel like when I listen to this audiobook I really struggle with the fact that it FEELS like an AI wrote it. But I’m not saying that an AI wrote it.

What happened to having people critique your work before you put it out in the world?

Sounds like it’s written by A.I.
