Publisher's Summary

Wall Street Journal best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills returns with an all-new swoon-fest of a novel about what happens when you look beyond labels and take a chance on love.

Badass Athlete: I dare you to...

Delaney Shaw: Who is this?

The late-night text is random, but "Badass Athlete" sure seems to know who she is...Delaney Shaw. Good girl. Lover of fluffy kitties and Star Wars. Curious.

His dare? Spend one night in his bed - a night he promises will be unforgettable - and she can solve the mystery of who he is.

She knows she shouldn't, but what else is she going to do with her boring Valentine's Day? One sexy hookup later, her mind is blown, and the secret's out.

Maverick Monroe. Bad boy. The most talented football player in the country. Just ask him. Too bad for him that Delaney's sworn off dating athletes forever after her last heartbreak.

But Maverick wants more than one night and refuses to give up on winning Delaney’s heart. She isn’t one to be fazed by a set of broad shoulders.

Will the bad boy land the nerd girl, or will the secrets they keep from each other separate them forever?

Enjoyable

This was a fun but very predictable and standard type of romance book. I thought this was a cute story of a nerdy college girl and the football star of the school. I liked both Delaney and Maverick and thought their personalities were the perfect blend. It intrigued me that it was so easy to assume they would have nothing in common but as they got to know each other you saw that wasn't really the case at all. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wanted a fun college romance to read about. I'm not too sure what's going to come next for this series but I can't wait to find out.

This book was included in the escape package!

Good start, but fell flat and corny

People are asking what’s missing, and all I can say is chemistry and character development. It’s just a basic corny story that needs less predictable fluff and more delectable meat.

It certainly had potential, but it’s given me a bad taste in my mouth. I may try another work by her someday, but not anytime soon.

4 You're Everything STARS

Having sworn off football players Delaney rebuffs Mavericks advances. She's been heartbroken before and doesn't want to do it again. She's looking for someone different, at least that's what she tells herself. Maverick is cocky but there is so much more to him as you get to know him. He was really a great guy and I loved how much he cared about his sister. Delaney is a nerdy girl who loves cats and Star Wars and someone you'd want to be friends with. Nothing is ever easy when the heart is involved and with Mav keeping secrets from Delaney will she be able to forgive and move on? You gotta listen to find out! Overall I really enjoyed this college romance and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Narration was great!

Disappointed 😞

I really loved the cover of this book so, I decided to listen to the audio. The narration did a good job. The story was predictable. I was waiting for something to happen for this story to become more but, it never did. IIsa wrote characters that I liked but, just didn’t really get to show some sort of depth in this story. This is a sports romance.

Good Read

This story reads good, narrators are good. The main characters have great chemistry. Nice way to pass a couple of hours of good listening.

Well that went nowhere fast..

Decent plot. Started out well with potential but then it just didn't deliver at all. It went nowhere at all and ended up being a pretty annoying story I really only finished because I had spent the money on it. There was a lot of chemistry between the two main characters but the actual "scenes" were seriously lacking the chemistry. Disappointing.

slow slow fast end

I love the story, the characters and the attention that is brought to those with brain injuries. BUT it was almost like the author was in a rush to finish the book. right in the middle of what was the climax it was also the end. Would have been nice to either have the book be longer or add a second book that talked wrapped things up better.

May the force be with you...

I thought I wrote a review for this. I guess I didn't. There is a supersition within Wehlin University that your first bonfire kiss is person you'll marry. Maverick just started attending this university and heard about this and is skeptical. So he's trying to avoid any girl that approaches him at the bonefire waiting to seal him to them. But, he see Delaney and is curious about the one girl trying to avoid him. Delaney was only there because of a dare her roommate/best friend made to her. For some reason daring her makes her do stuff she is uncomfortable doing. Anyways, Maverick can't keep his eyes from Delaney and somehow kiss one another. He missed his opportunity at the bonefire to get to know her. Now it's their senior year and their situation from mutual acquiatances could become more.

I keep going back to this story because I love these two characters. And I was hoping to see a book of Delaney's best friend. Hopefully I hope. Anyways, I recommend. to listen to this.

I Dare You

So after I finished I Bet You, I needed more from this author. I am so glad I picked up this one as well. This is another great college/romance they meet freshmen year but they don’t see each other again in any real way until 2 yrs later. That was interesting I liked the way the story flowed. Maverick had to sow some of his wild oats first. I also think Delaney needed to have a bit of heartbreak too to really appreciate her next relationship.
Maverick isn’t having the best time of it and he wants to do what is right, but what is right when you need something so badly but know getting it could put your future in jeopardy. I like that he kept his distance as much as he could because he didn’t want to hurt her.
But also I liked that she pushes him to be the man she knows he can be.
Great story great narration I loved it. I want more.

Great story but female narrator😬

I love the story there was great chemistry between the leads however the female narrator talked way too fast during the sex scenes so you’re waiting for the build up and then she Ruined the whole mood.

A must read! Maverick is swoon-y af!

This was a quick day listen and I loved everything about this one. Ilsa is a go to author I love. She balances the humour, quirky and emotions so well. Maverick was so much deeper and swoon-y than I expected. His dedication to his sister warmed my heart through. I could easily be besties with Delaney. Her character is the easy kind I can relate to on so many ways. And in years to come I’ll remember Hans solo and oh that Jedi moment!!
Both narrators brought the characters to life.

4.5 I DARE YOU STARS!
