Pleasantly surprised

I am new to this author and have been trying to find a good read after picking up a horror novel that had me glued throughout. I had to try a new genre because I was going through some poor recommendations that had me burnt out. This was a fine story, well written. Just when I thought I could predict what was going to happen.. I was wrong. No cliff hangers. Would recommend.

I love a good female hero

Story kept my interest, I love that the author did not make all the female characters weak and useless. Overall a good read

Mixed review...

From chapters 1 thru 31, this book reads as "Young Adult". It's a bit tedious and somewhat uninteresting. Then it explodes and never looks back. If u can get thru the 1st part, the second part is pretty good.

Not Horror or Scary

I don't normally read horror, but picked this up as scary read for October. It is not scary. If you like police procedural mysteries or thrillers then you may like this.

PS I don’t think the author has probably hiked much if at all.
The book mentions that there are no deer or large predators in the mountains which is silly. Even cities in the US have deer. It was also stated that water runs clearer after a rain. Rain normally washes dirt and debris into the water so it is not “clearer”.

Unexpectedly Fantastic

This book is a wild ride. It definitely keeps you guessing with more than one twist throughout. The narrator was excellent. Super creepy, but not too terrifying, the perfect balance of suspense and heart pounding dread. My first five star of the year!
