Finally, a housekeeping and organizational system developed for those of us who'd describe our current living situation as a "f--king mess" that we "really need to get around to fixing one day". Unf--k Your Habitat is for anyone who has been left behind by traditional aspirational systems - the ones that ignore single people with full-time jobs, people without kids but living with roommates, and people with mental illnesses or physical limitations. Most organizational books are aimed at stay-at-home moms and people who seem to have unimaginable amounts of free time.

Historia
Finally, a housekeeping and organizational system developed for those of us who'd describe our current living situation as a "f--king mess" that we "really need to get around to fixing one day". Unf--k Your Habitat is for anyone who has been left behind by traditional aspirational systems - the ones that ignore single people with full-time jobs, people without kids but living with roommates, and people with mental illnesses or physical limitations. Most organizational books are aimed at stay-at-home moms and people who seem to have unimaginable amounts of free time.

In Willpower Doesn't Work, Benjamin Hardy explains that willpower is nothing more than a dangerous fad—one that is bound to lead to failure. Instead of "white-knuckling" your way to change, you need to instead alter your surroundings to support your goals. This book shows you how.

Even the most disorganized among us can take control of our on- and off-line details so our loved ones won’t have to scramble later. The experts at Everplans make it possible in this essential and easy-to-follow book. Breaking the task down into three levels, from the most urgent (like granting access to passwords), to the technical (creating a manual for the systems in your home), to the nostalgic (assembling a living memory), this clear, step-by-step program not only removes the anxiety and stress from getting your life in order, it’s actually liberating. And deeply satisfying.

In How to Get Sh*t Done she shows how even the most perfectionistic among us can tap in to our inner free spirit and learn to feel like badasses rather than drudges.

DO THE DISHES EVERYDAY!! A habit that changed our household. Seriously I have read so many organization books but Dana made me make changes. She is an amazing narrator ( so glad she did herself) and her habit forming tips truly work. It is an inspiring guide to help move beyond "decluttering paralysis" and start seeing lasting results. (The author refers to it as
"De-Slobification"). If you are looking for a book to give you very specific organizational, this book does not generally provide that kind of information. It more importantly provides guidance on how to develop new habits and mindsets on maintaining a cleaner and more clutter-free home, while still being realistic about having days where things might slide back to a more disorganized state yet being better able to bring things back to a more orderly condition after having learned new habits and strategies. The author is very upfront from the beginning about the type of people for whom this book will be most relevant and beneficial. This book is for those who feel in great disarray and can benefit from starting with the most basic tasks to bring change (eventually expanding to the larger "projects" after the new habits are formed).
Definitely recommend!
