How to Jiu Jitsu for Beginners is oriented toward teaching basic jiu-jitsu techniques for self-defense. The book shows the user how to control stand up aspects of a fight as well as ground aspects.

From a standing perspective, the audiobook will explain how to keep the distance in a fight as well as what type of takedowns an attacker may employ. The text outlines these takedowns in detail and show ways to avoid or counter these techniques. Users are instructed on how to perform these vary same takedowns, so that the defender can become the attacker should the need arise.

On the ground, the audio outlines how to control an attacker who wants to harm the defender. Defense for stopping punches, how to control an attacker, and how to reverse positions, are all covered. How to Jiu Jitsu for Beginners also details how to attack on the ground, first from the back and then from top position. Finally, the section for ground work shows how to stand up quickly and effectively to get away from an opponent on the ground or to face a standing opponent.

The narrator stays consistent and produces this nuetral attitude. That sort of takes away the stress of thinking about some of this stuff if it has happened. Most schools I have been to, just skip this basic stuff so, I felt it was helpful. Though it is the narration of a book. So some things won't make sense unless you can really try to imagine it. Which is great. It makes that solid in your mind. So when you get the actual book you can destroy your preconceived notions and correct your self.

My point is that. The narrator really made the audiobook worth the purchase.

Great listen

The information would be great if the intended illustrations went with it. I would imagine if the pictures were there it would be a great book.

pointless without the illustrations
