Story
Peyton Salvage suffered the death of a loved one at an early age and learned that the way we approach death as a society does nothing to serve those struggling to cope with losing someone dear to them. Losing a loved one is one of the most traumatic and heartbreaking events in a person's life. And yet, as a society, we're uncomfortable with allowing people to grieve in the way most natural to them, leaving mourners feeling isolated and ashamed of their grief.

Story
Real heartbreak is unmistakable. We think of nothing else. We feel nothing else. We care about nothing else. Yet while we wouldn't expect someone to return to daily activities immediately after suffering a broken limb, heartbroken people are expected to function normally in their lives, despite the emotional pain they feel. Now psychologist Guy Winch imagines how different things would be if we paid more attention to this unique emotion - if only we can understand how heartbreak works, we can begin to fix it.

Mental health issues are not a symptom of a spiritual failing or insufficient faith; rather, suffering is the very thing our Savior seeks to heal as he leads us toward restoration. And yet, as Waller has experienced personally, the battle can be lonely and discouraging. But it doesn't have to be.

Story
A guy who rejects or breaks up with you should no longer exist in your life. Contacting him or allowing him to stay in touch with you will make you work harder and harder to convince him that you’re worth his love and attention, and it will compel you to play that ugly and unwinnable game called Chase-a-Man. The best way to avoid this ugly game and break his spell over you is to cut the guy off (cease all communications and interactions) for a set period of time, or in some cases, keep him cut off out of your life indefinitely.

On Death and Dying began as a theoretical book, an interdisciplinary study of our fear of death and our inevitable acceptance of it. It introduced the world to the now-famous five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. On Grief and Grieving applies these stages to the process of grieving and weaves together theory, inspiration, and practical advice, all based on Kübler-Ross' and Kessler's professional and personal experiences.

Instead, you walked around on eggshells making sure none of your actions would upset or irritate your parents. Now, it is the right time to start healing yourself instead of taking care of others.

Story
Psychotherapist David Richo examines the science of triggers and our reactions of fear, anger, and sadness. He helps us understand why our bodies respond before our minds have a chance to make sense of a situation. By looking deeply at the roots of what provokes us - the words, actions, and even sensory elements like smell - we find opportunities to understand the origins of our triggers and train our bodies to remain calm in the face of painful memories.

Story
Few of us have lived through the kind of suffering Teal Swan endured: 13 years of ritual abuse at the hands of a cult. But all of us have been fractured by trauma in one way or another. Your wounds may be visible as bodily scars; or they may show up in the form of anxiety, depression, or PTSD; or you may simply be struggling in your life for reasons you don’t simply understand. The good news is that you can heal your wounds.

Story
If you were raised to believe that painful emotions are a sign of weakness, or if being vulnerable has always made you feel unsafe, then you may have survived by creating a perfect-looking life - a life where you appear to be successful, engaged, and always there for others. The problem? You're filled with self-criticism and shame, and you can't allow yourself to express fear, anger, loss, or grief. You recognize something is wrong, but you're not sure what exactly - only that you feel trapped and alone. If this sounds like you, you may have perfectly hidden depression (PHD).
