The dark road of revenge

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is any honest review. Narrated by Charlie Albers, this is a quirky and different kind of story from this author. The characters of Ashleigh and Bryan weren't done many favors from the start as both are the kinds of individuals anyone would love to murder for how they see other people and correspondingly treat people because of it. Curtis, with his deep desire to get back at Bryan for all the abusive behavior he had to endure as a kid is the fantasy anyone with similar experiences would love to be able to live out regardless of any consequences that comes from it.

The more you uncover, the more complicated revenge is.

Highly recommended.

Funny thriller!

This was an interesting read! The situation was different than other thrillers, it was comedic, the characters were eccentric and it kept you guessing!

An interesting storyline with great narration

Another great psychological thriller with the Jessica Huntley touch. With quite a few twists & turns, this revenge thriller packs quite a punch until it gets to its shocking & unpredictable conclusion. The narrator really portrays the different characters in such a way that the listener gets to see their personalities, emotions, & feelings throughout the novel. the title brings you in and the twist and turns keep you in! this was a whirlwind read The story follows Ashleigh, who is a well to do woman. When she becomes entangled with Curtis and Brian, her life takes on some new adventures to say the least, this was a great read with lots of banter and twists the ending was top tier.

Worth a listen

From the moment I turned this book on I was locked. The story was every bit entertaining and the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the story to life. The narrators voice was easy to listen to. The story was very descriptive and quite engaging. The twist was a twist that kept on giving.

An exciting, fun psychological read

This is one of the most fun psychological thrillers I have ever read. The multiple POV's keep you on your toes and guessing. The characters draw you into worlds so easily and they are quite easy to love.
I miss Ashley Carmichael already! Her character development is so good. You know it is good writing when the author can make you feel strong emotions, whether it be loving or hating a character.
It is the first time I have read Huntley book but it definitely won't be the last. If she writes it, I will read it.
The narrator does a brilliant job with all the different POVs when it comes to differentiating them.
If you are a thriller girly and want an exciting fun ride, give this one a read.

Do I, do I not...

This is not a bulletin of steps and you're done, to the end. This is a wonderfully complex yet simple story, or should I say, a simple yet complex one?
I love how this starts so innocently, and sad, and then it is all about whose name is who and who did what??
I will say that this story is very exhilerating for anyone who has been raped in any form. It lets you get out some of that baggage along the story.

An Outstanding Ride

When I started this audiobook, I was so absorbed by the story, I avoided completing all other daily responsibilities and stayed up to finish the whole book. There were some difficult scenes to listen to, but I couldn't drag myself away. I was captivated by all the twists and turns. I enjoyed the fact that I was never sure where the story was going. With every new story, this author is becoming one of my favorites. I was entertained by Charlie Albers' narration as her performance kept my attention. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

A darkly funny thriller you won’t want to put down

What a ride! How to Commit the Perfect Murder in Ten Easy Steps is dark, witty, and absolutely gripping. Ashleigh Carmichael’s glamorous life colliding with Curtis and Bryan’s twisted rivalry made for such an entertaining and unexpected story. The mix of humor and tension kept me hooked, and I found myself laughing one moment and gasping the next.

I listened to the audiobook, and Charlie Albers was phenomenal, funny, engaging, and able to bring every character to life. Jessica Huntley’s writing is sharp and full of clever twists, with an ending that completely floored me. The timeline threw me off a little at times (I probably should’ve jotted down the dates), but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the story.

This book is a perfect blend of thriller and satire, and I’ll definitely be looking for more from Jessica Huntley. Five stars from me!
