Publisher's Summary

USA Today best-selling author K. A. Linde introduces the Royal Houses series with House of Dragons: the story of Kerrigan Argon, a half-Fae, half-human as she seeks her place in an unforgiving world filled with magic, mayhem, and romance.

Ten years ago, half-Fae, half human Kerrigan Argon was discreetly dropped off onto the steps of Draco Mountain with nothing but a note. Her life changes completely as she's swept into the care of the House of Dragons-an elite training program for gifted Fae.

On the year of her 17th name day, each student will be chosen by one of the 12 tribes of Alandria to enter society.

Everyone is chosen, except Kerrigan.

So, she strikes a bargain with the Dragon Society: Convince a tribe to select her or give up her birthright forever.

With the unlikeliest of allies - Fordham Ollivier, the cursed Fae prince, who escaped his dark throne - she has to chart her own destiny to reshape the world.

Amazing

So I’m not big on fantasy books. They are not my cup of tea and I normally will not willing pick one to read unless it is HIGHLY recommended. This changed with Linde’s Ascension series. I devoured each book as it was released. Naturally, when I heard she was going to write another series and it was along the same lines, I wanted a shot at it. It does not disappoint! Once again, Linde’s writing is magnificent. I’m also working my way through the audio version and it’s even better. I’m so excited to see what she dreams up next!

Didn't waste a single page!

This was a great read!

Considering the other Ascension series is so long, I feel like House of Dragons deserves praise for what it set out to do, which was to tell another story in the same universe with a different character. I was invested the entire time. Every. Page. Every chapter. It all has purpose and meaning all while staying interesting. I also never once felt like I was against the protagonist's decisions or thoughts about events. With other series, I tend to disagree or get frustrated with the some of the protagonist's decisions at times, but Kerrigan, I felt, played to her strengths well when it came to her choices. I never had a problem listening to her story because of it.
Great read/listen! Narrator was actually better than I expected! So I highly recommend!

Performer ruined it

I couldn’t even continue with this. This reader is the absolute worst reader I have ever heard. Her tone, inflection and especially her annunciation were horrible. Sounded like an illiterate northern teenager. Wish I could get my money back.

Scales! I love this world🖤💕

House of Dragons is my first Fae book and I am loving this world that Kyla has created. It’s full of magic, mystery a bit of intrigue and a ton of loyalty.

I love the family that Kerrigan has made for herself💕 I can’t wait to see what happens in House of Shadows👀🖤

3.5 stars

This is very much aimed at the teenage market, but I still found it enjoyable. Some of the plot seemed a little lost and didn’t quite connect together as it should, but I’ll still get the next book in the series.
