Publisher's summary

At Hotel Lamia, experience the charm of New Orleans...as well as its bite.

For 200 years, April has stayed at the hotel. Watching—waiting for her chance to leave. Freedom burned just outside the hotel’s glass doors, but one thing holds her back. The man who saved her, Kovac. She refused to repay his kindness with abandonment, but after two centuries, the shackles of friendship are chafing. But how to fix it?

The answer comes in the form of one terminally ill human who wanders into the hotel’s lobby: Nicole. When sparks fly between the two, April lunges on her one chance at freedom. If she can get them together–overcoming Kovac’s frustrating insistence that turning the dying woman would damn her to hell–then her long-coveted freedom will finally be within reach.

Or, so she thought. When a mortal man comes running after Nicole and long-dead feelings begin to stir to life in April, an unforeseen complication is added to the mix, one she’d forever written off. Fated mates, soul mates...not for her. At least, that’s what she’d believed.

Until now. Get swept away in this twisty paranormal romance where love is cursed...or is it?"

Vampires in a town usually ran by witches

New Orleans hotel that is home to vampires. That was an interesting location since this town is usually ran by witches. I really liked April and enjoy her character. She is snarky, sassy, but hilarious. She is willing to anything for the people she loves or vamps in this case. Kovac is a protector, and so loveable. Nicole who is terminally ill and decides to stay at the hotel to die in peace. To her surprise it doesn’t look like that will happen. This author gave a different origin and belief to vampires that popular facts on vampires can be false.

Vampires

A New Orleans haunted hotel that is home to vampires. That was an interesting location to place the story. I must say, I really like April and enjoy her character. She is snarky but funny. Kovac is a protector, and so loveable. Nicole (not a vampire) is terminally ill and decides to stay at the hotel. I liked the info on the origins of vampires, and that popular facts on vampires is false. Characters well developed. The narration was well done. 2 for 1 HEA

Super sweet and spicy! There are two couples that find each other at the same time. 2 adoptive siblings fall for 2 adoptive siblings. April and Kovac run a hotel that caters to the needs of immortals and thrill seeking humans. The two come across first Nicole then later her bff/adoptive brother January. This story also starts the background of this infamous hotel chain run and owned by April and Kovac. So good. Must read/listen.

Crazy, Sexy, and absolutely Steamy

Hotel Lamia is one erotic, humorous roller-coaster ride that you won't want to get off. The plot puts a whole new spin on any vampire tale I have ever read, and I loved it. I will not give any spoilers, but I will say enjoyment was had by all. If you love paranormal romances laced with comedy, I highly recommend this book. Julie Blanc did a phenomenal job as the narrator, giving the story life, warmth, and realism. The plot and characters are strong and believable, especially because the setting is based in Louisiana. I highly recommend this book you will not be disappointed.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. Good world building. I liked the lore of how vampires came to be in this story. It was unique and different. I also liked the characters and their distinct personalities. April, the sassy people-hating vampire was my favorite character. I liked the idea of a vampire who does not want to curse anyone to immortality, but the mortal female he's so powerfully drawn to is dying of brain cancer. I couldn't wait to see what would happen. This is my first book from this author and I would read more.

I listened to this audiobook narrated by Julie Branc. She did an okay job. She narrated fine, but April and Nicole's voices sounded pretty much the same to me. Her male voice was distinguishable only because she spoke a little deeper.

Great story

If you like clean vampire stories this is for you! Mild language & eroticism though not explicit. Narration is well done & consistent.

Original World Building

This was my first Tiffany Ann's book. This is the first book in the Hotel Lamia Series. The story is original, unique, and entertaining. The characters are well developed, and interesting. The world building is captivating. I liked this steamy Urban Vampire Romance. Julie Branc did a good job bringing this story to life.
