Love of the Hunt

Tales of hunting Africa in the old days. I was 2 years old when this was written, I read it when I was 14 the first time. Loved it even more this time.

Safari classic

This is one of the classics of the safari book only wish they had more of his work available!

which Africa is it

Is it the Africa of a new inexperienced hunter or of a super sniper?
Is he working together with his wife, or is she a bumbling idiot?
Does he love the native population or are they simple and niave?
The one constant is that Ruark remains a legend in his own mind.

Put off for too long

Read his stories of growing up in NC, but skipped this as I’ve never really had an interest in safaris. Turned out to be an entertaining and engrossing listen.
