Filled with hilariously scandalous situations and enough sexual chemistry to power an airplane from New York City to the South Pacific, Hooking Up is the next standalone, laugh-out-loud romance audiobook from Helena Hunting, the New York Times best-selling author of the Pucked series and Shacking Up.
Amalie Whitfield is the picture of a blushing bride during her wedding reception - but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of proclaiming his undying love, her husband can be heard, by Amalie and their guests, getting off with someone else. She has every reason to freak out, and in a moment of insanity she throws herself at the first hot-blooded male she sees. But he's not interested in becoming her revenge screw.
Mortified and desperate to escape the post-wedding drama, Amalie decides to go on her honeymoon alone, only to find the man who rejected her also heading to the same tiny island for work. But this time he isn't holding back. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can't seem to resist him.
They might agree that what happens on the island should stay on the island, but neither one can deny that their attraction is more than just physical. This sizzling audiobook is the perfect companion to any day at the beach or a rainy afternoon.

Another Awesome Helena Hunting Listen
I have been so excited to read Hooking Up after reading Shacking Up and then the short story in the Eye Candy Anthology. I liked Amie and couldn’t stand her fiancee, so I couldn’t wait for her story!
Amalie has been putting up with her uptight fiancee, Armstrong, for a while, thinking he is the safe one, the businessman her family approves of. He has been “molding her” to be the society wife he strove for, but that’s just not the true “Anarchy Amie”, and she was losing bits of herself to this douchenozzle.
Luckily (yes, embarrassing, but still lucky) her husband was caught getting a BJ at his own wedding reception, in fact, it was broadcast over the sound system! And it was NOT Amie who was doing the blowing! So what does she do? Tries to get back at him with his gorgeous cousin and biggest rival. But because he is a gentleman, he rejects her.
But when she goes on her Honeymoon alone, guess who is there on business? The same guy! The guy who saw Amie first but Armstrong (the jerk) warned Amie away from him and moved in himself. There was always that pull between them that couldn’t be denied.
“She’s my sun and I’m her moon, connected by an invisible thread, bound but free.”
3 weeks in Bora Bora with Mr. Hot and totally forbidden sounds like the perfect cure to get over your new husband cheating at the wedding and realizing he’s the biggest jerk on the planet.
“I assure you, there’s nothing nice about the things I want to do to you, the ways I want to have you.”
“Oh. Well, that’s good to know.” The wide eyes and innocent stare morph into the same wild look I caught a glimpse of in her bridal suite. “Because I’m pretty sick and [effing] tired of nice, polite sex.”
Because of family connections and society gossip, they both know that what happens in Bora Bora has to stay there, even if they both want more.
“I’m not supposed to have her beyond this even if I want her. And I do. I can still taste her. I can still smell her. I can still feel her even though she’s gone. Again…”
After reading the story in Eye Candy, you really question why Amie was with Armstrong to begin with, and I’m very glad that Hooking Up addressed that a bit more. But once she was with the new guy (name withheld), there was no denying, these two were perfect together.
•The airport security scene.
•I really loved both main characters.
•I liked his playful, funny side, and his socks.
•He’s just such a GOOD guy despite the little bit of bad boy.
•There were some laugh out loud moments.
•Visiting with the couple from Shacking Up.
•I don’t feel the cover goes with the book. He’s hot, but it just doesn’t fit in my mind.
•They talked about the fact that they talked about stuff, but never showed it, but yet there was a LOT of sex. I would have liked to see a bit of the sex traded out for more of an emotional connection.
Switching halfway through the book, I expected it to be strange, but it was seamless. In fact, I enjoyed the book even more via audible. The narrators are fabulous.
The Down & Dirty:
I loved Hooking Up! Helena Hunting delivers another fantastic romantic comedy that kept me smiling the whole time. I never lost interest at any time, it had great pacing, a villain you love to hate, a forbidden romance, hot times and kept a smile on my face. I can’t ask for much more!

Good story, narrator wasn't great
I liked the book, the story was good. I wanted to know what would happen next and how things would turn out. However, I found the female reader's voice highly annoying. Everything was said with a snarky arrogance that I found difficult to listen to for very long. I won't buy any books that she has read in the future.

Finally a good one
The last several books in this genre I’ve experienced had me saying ‘how stupid’ out loud, cringing and rolling my eyes. This one didn’t, characters were great, storyline was great, dialogue and everything. Even the character names were good. I’ll seek out more from this author.

I would recommend this listen! It was funny and sweet with just the right amount of sexy. The characters balanced each other really well. Lex definitely makes a wonderful book boyfriend. Both readers were great at voicing the characters differently so you always know who is speaking! This book is a great way to spend a few hours forgetting your troubles!

Getting back up, and sexy times!
Another great read. I loved how all over the place, and real this book was. Sometimes life is hard and slaps you in the face. It’s how you get back up and learn to love that makes the difference. That’s what this book is.

absolutely loved this book especially the characters. It was sweet and sexy with lots of feels!
Believable & likeable characterization<br />
Loved this from start to finish. great balance. of steam and emotion. likeable modern characters and with positive and balanced interaction. So often I find women in romance a bit pathetic but the author cleverly created emotional and sexual reservation for all the right reasons.
I tried to get into this. Perhaps I should’ve tried more than 7 chapters but I just found myself bored and interested. Having a string of these lately. I adored the Pucked series so perhaps went in with too high hopes with this one.
Fantastic story, really enjoyed reading it, and enjoyed this audiobook more than the last.
As much as I like Jacob Morgan, I still think he sounds bored and without much passion when he narrates certain books/characters.
Muffy did a good job even if she does sound breathy, a little too much, in nearly all of her audiobooks.
