Great story read by a great character. Although it seems mostly an echo of the series, It's valid and thought through material.

A comprehensive guide to hardcore homesteading

Bit of a contaminated survey here since I'm a fan of the show, but I enjoyed this book. I love that Marty himself narrates the audiobook. Of course, there are stories repeated in this book from the show. Other stories that give the audience an intimate look and a deeper understanding of the challenges homesteaders face and how to survive.

Fantastic Story written and read by an amazing Man

I really enjoyed this book and the narration. It has a lot of very useful information for someone who is just thinking about getting into homesteading, as well as people that may have already been living this lifestyle. I admire Marty Raney and I thank him for taking the time to put this together.

Excellent book - much better than anticipated

Marty shares his wins, trials, and challenges from living a homesteader's life.
When time permits, I plan to watch his video series too.

Best book I’ve ever listened to on Audible

Amazing information and super relaxing to listen to. Marty Raney is the real deal, his wisdom and knowledge can help everyone. He is a huge mentor to me and I hope he reaches the rest of the younger generation of men and women. Highly Recommend!

Excellent Information

Loved it! Goes more in depth than the show. Definitely inspiring. Looking to make some changes, but probably won't be fully off grid.

Please don’t let Hollywood confuse facts

I enjoyed the book but during the hunting chapter Raney tries to sidle up to non hunters by disparaging “trophy hunters”, a loaded description. I hunt for meat but he knows that all hunters are responsible for our right to hunt and most of habitat and wildlife conservation. Stay true…TV watchers are not allies. They come and go.

Amazing book!

I am a huge fan of this amazing family and was so thrilled when I came across their book. We watch homestead rescue every night and have used tips from the show for our own 5 acre homestead. I swear I’m their biggest fan!

Worth listening to if your going off grid

Overall I liked the book. I am a fan of homestead rescue and was looking forward to reading/listening to Marty's book. There is alot of useful information and insights into starting your own homestead. The only thing that I would criticize is wish he didn't use so many Homestead rescue references. If you have seen the show, at times it felt like you were just listening to a personal interview from Marty about something you have already seen. I was hoping for more insights from Marty on the struggles his family had personally overcome in their earlier years.
