Publisher's Summary

An American musician with a broken heart meets a local farmer with a hidden past on a holiday house swap in Yorkshire. A charming romantic comedy that will fill your heart with holiday cheer.

A country cottage is the last place Paige expected to spend the holidays, but a year after her girlfriend dumped her, her life is in shambles. A last minute house swap sends her from California to Yorkshire to put her life back on track. She doesn't believe in forever anymore, but when she meets a raven haired beauty in the local pub, she seizes the chance for a night of fun.

On the brink of fame and fortune, Fiona suffered an unthinkable loss, and a year later she's given up on singing, and just about everything else. When the brother she relies on too much skips town "for her own good" and loans his cottage to a stranger for the holidays, her life is turned upside down. She knows she can't make a new relationship work, but when she meets a purple haired American at the local pub, she figures it wouldn't hurt to blow off some steam.

They never meant to see each other again, yet from the very first morning when the vicar comes to call and Paige gets mowed down by a runaway llama, they just can't seem to escape their lives becoming increasingly, and hilariously, entwined. And when a series of calamities threatens Christmas in Holme village, the two must work together to save the day, and maybe find true love along the way.

A year ago, their lives fell apart. Can a bit of Christmas magic help them build a new life together?

Part of the Americans Abroad series, a romantic comedy series where each book features an American woman traveling or living abroad and finding love in humorous and unexpected ways.

Gives Me The Holiday Vibes

I really enjoyed this story. It reminded me a bit of the movie The Holiday with lesbian and music festival components. I loved how the story lines of the various characters worked together. The relationships were so realistic. At some points, it got a little too steamy for me so I skipped ahead a bit. It was not overdone though. I would easily listen to another book in this series.

Stephanie Murphy did a great job as well. Her voices and emotions were spot on.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request, and I have voluntarily left this review.

Fun love story

Miranda MacLeod delivers a fun story about love across the pond. Beautifully narrated by Stephanie Murphy, it’s a delight to hear. Paige’s initial travels to the UK is so classically true that I thought someone was writing about my journey to Amsterdam. It had me laughing. The meeting of Fiona and Paige is filled with heat and humor. Enjoy.

Laugh out loud romantic comedy

This was laugh out loud funny. Miranda MacLeod did a fantastic job taking a story that started off somber and turning it into something fun and hilarious. I highly recommend this if you like romantic comedies and the Christmas season. Stephanie Murphy did a great job making each character unique and easy to follow who was speaking.

Laugh out loud!

A very touching novel. I shed a few tears and laughed out loud. I recently listened to and I’m sure it’s a good read too, ‘Home for the Holidays’ by Miranda Macleod. While I laughed out loud in public this rom-com it’s not fluff. I bought a hard copy for a friend.
Stephanie Murphy is a treasure. She gives the perfect voice to the story and the characters providing total immersion into a wonderful book.

Get some holiday spirit today

Holme for the Holidays starts off on a gloomy tone, due to the events setting stage for one of the MCs' arc.
This is an unusual be courageous choice in this genre, and potential listeners should not let themselves be scared away by it.
Those who stick with the book will be rewarded with wintry Yorkshire landscapes, a lively and tight knit village community, and a healthy dose of holiday spirit.

Stephanie Murphy's voice was an excellent match for the story.
Like a hot drink and a blanket on a rainy day, this audiobook will give you feelings of warmth and coziness.

Holme for the Holidays brought me Christmas in August. If holiday spirit is what you're looking for, go get it!

This was so cute!

The characters were sweet and I liked the emotional journey they both went on. I don't always like accents in an audiobook but they weren't distracting or unpleasant. This was an all round enjoyable book and I look forward to listening to it again someday!

Lovely feel good romance and works well in audio

There are several aspects to this book that I really enjoyed the first time I read it. It's a seamless easy read set in authentic settings and with great characterisations. The ups and downs of the storyline work well and the Christmas snowy Yorkshire rural setting and likeable characters all contribute. It works well in audio and Stephanie Murphy's narration just added another welcome dimension. Scenes that had me smiling in the Kindle version had me laughing aloud with the audio. A lovely feel good read.

Thoroughly engaging story well written

I had great pleasure in listening to this book. The pace was good the narrator read with nice even pace the characters were well thought out and played well by the narrator. The pitch of the narrator was soothing.
The story was witty and compassionate with some quirkiness which I loved.
The only criticisms were the accents were off, maybe have no accents at all and that the book ended too soon!
