I’d recommend for all parents with toddlers to preteens

I loved that the author cites there sources. He went on to give a story related to the chapters main points which really collected it all nicely. Some alarming stats and it was 50/50 on feeling ready to hold onto my kid and feeling hopeless that too much damage has been done and the road ahead will be arduous.

I will say, I bought this book a while ago and I just finished today. The narrator was kind of boring... maybe it’s my adhd, I just had a very difficult time listening to this for more than 30 min at a time.

An Important Book

The way in which the book transcends our modern zeitgeist and gets back to our roots, incorporates some of the best modern wisdom and science, and does so without having an outdated reactionary bent is very refreshing. I derived a great deal of value from this book and would recommend it to just about anyone, but especially to parents and caregivers of children.

Amazing book very informative for how to literally and figuratively hold on to our children

An important book.

The information offered is valuable and well supported in the book. I felt like the first half was too long for the points made. However, the second half was worth its weight in gold for parents who's gut tells them the social norms of families today are not serving children well. The last chapter, added to address social media and gaming is just what I needed as a parent to confirm what I felt was right for my child and gave me helpful guidance on how to carry out parenting regarding this topic. I have read other books by Gabor and respect his knowledge and experience.

Must read for all parents & soon to be

This was a great parenting book -best I've read. Takes you back to the basics of what parenting is all about and provides practical advice about this mew digital world we live in.

KEY to Connection with Self and Child

This book validated me and my intuition as a mother. There is always so much pressure to be different. In some ways I gave in, all of those things turned out badly. This helped me feel like I can relate to more people, even experts. It also helped me to see behaviors more objectively and understand exactly where they came from. And to see how much I really should trust my power as a wonderful parent and stand in my uniqueness.

It immediately reveals the root of social desecration of the family unit and source of children’s disconnection from their parents.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, caregiver, or even if you're none of these things, this book provides very interesting insights into the societal norms of today versus the natural state of growth humans are meant to be brought up in. I enjoyed this book very much.
