Story
As the first humans allowed in Suevan space, there’s a lot riding on my all-woman team. Earth desperately needs their tech, and I’m determined to prove we can negotiate the price. Without their planetary defense systems, Earth is a sitting duck, ripe for invasion. Except the Suevan culture is nothing like ours. When I take part in what I think is a welcoming ceremony, I leave with more than I bargained for: a husband. A mate. Apparently, we’re there to marry them as payment—something the top brass on Earth doesn’t bother denying. Fantastic.

She’s everything I shouldn’t want. I capture her anyway. What humans hail an invasion we call Garrison Earth: A mission to save our species from extinction. But while my warriors will soon have the stomachs of their new mates swell with daughters, I know this planet holds nothing for me. Until a fierce, red-haired female points her gun with her eyes blazing fire, and I know I have found my mate. A bullet and a tranquilizer pad later, I carry her in my arms. Against my better judgment. But who argues fate?

Story
I’ve been abducted. Twice. My situation with this new group of aliens has gone from bad to worse. I was with a bunch of elf-like aliens who had unparalleled technology, but now I’m in the midst of a group of primitive gargoyle aliens running around in loincloths. Which doesn’t hide much, let me tell you. There’s one gargoyle in particular who watches my every move, but what’s under his loincloth scares me more than his beastly appearance. To be sure we’re worthy to breed with, the savages have us each perform a rite of passage. And by that I mean a test of survival.

With my clan threatened, I don’t have time for romance with a pesky Earth female. Until I meet Piper. She and her youngling son are part of our planet’s new settlement. Soon, I find myself helping her plan her home and talking about odd Earthling activities. What is a square dance, and must I do it? She’s soft and lush in all the right places, and I could pick her up and carry her around with one arm. And her son…I ache to show him how to tame a mighty winged trundier. Piper may say she doesn’t need love, but I'll do whatever it takes to win her heart.

Miari: Blue skin. Seven feet. Strapped with corded muscle, the aliens have come again but this time, their king is here and he's watching me with hunger. A hybrid with red alien skin and brown human eyes, I've got no family and am not desired by colony men. I'm an inventor, a mechanic, a tinkerer. The alien king seeks to claim me, but he'll have to find me first. Our little colony is a scary, desperate place and I'm willing to meet it head on if it means escaping him and the alien sensations he stirs deep in my gut, where light and truth cannot touch them.

Long have we been alone; without brides, without females to warm us during the long nights, without sweet mates. But we see them from afar, the brides that could be ours. Kept away from us by walls and weapons. Females we long for greatly...obsessively. Human females. And the one with red hair? I want her. I saw her first. I will fight to the death for her. I signed up for a research mission with five other women. Instead, we crashed on an alien planet with too many dangers to count. Separated from the other women, I’m on my own until a huge alien with color-changing skin and a massive sword gets me out of a bad spot. I don’t understand Savair’s language, but I think he’s under the impression that I’m his. I am NOT his. I’m a 34-year old divorced scientist with no time for such nonsense. But if he can help me find the others in my group then perhaps I can play at being “his” for a while.

Aliens. That's right. I said it. I know - it sounds stupid to me also. I'm a psychologist (sort of), so you'd think I'd be able to reason my way out of this mess. Except the reality is that I've been abducted to become their breeder, and it doesn't take an advanced degree to recognize this is all sorts of jacked up. But I digress. Apparently, these aliens are on the brink of extinction and need me and my fellow captives to repopulate. Yay us. I guess it's time to figure out an escape plan before they knock me up. I'll be back later. Hopefully.

Desperate to escape the clutches of the alien lizard mafia, I accept a spur-of-the-moment job offer on a distant planet. A monstrous, grumpy alien is building a new home in a distant colony, and he’s looking for an assistant. He needs me to hold his hammer. I get it. It’s a big hammer. He's a lonely barbarian brute with a gruff exterior, but I soon learn that inside, he's hiding a squishy center. When he unexpectedly enters his mating frenzy, there’s no one around to handle the job—except me. He gives me two options: return home or stay and help him with a whole different kind of nailing.

Publisher's summary
My alien overlord is huge, all-powerful, and determined to claim me.
Every human girl growing up on New Terrhan knows one thing...that she will be taken by one or several Xalthurian males when she turns 21. The Xalthurians are rough, domineering, and huge all over, but this is the deal our leaders struck so that they would provide our human colony with desperately needed supplies.
If the baby born from our taking is a girl, we will be allowed to keep it. If the baby is a boy, it will be taken away, never to be seen again. That is the way it has always been on our small planet, and that is the way it will always be.
I should accept my fate, but I can’t. When they come for my sister’s baby boy, I dare to defy the alien they call “Tel.” As it turns out, “Tel” means prince. But rather than killing me for my insolence, the future overlord vows to return to the planet. When I am 21.
He’s huge, all-powerful, and determined to claim me.
Can I stop him?
And how will I answer when the question becomes, do I want to?

A surprise find
This was much better than I expected. So many of the books on amazon are poorly edited and badly written. This had all the elements of a romance and a fun sci-fi romp. The heroine was likable, not stupid and bullheaded in the guise of being a strong woman. She actually was strong, intelligent, and determined. The male lead was also interesting and not just a brainless walking slab of muscle. It was also wonderful to have a romance without the typical “slender blonde” heroine. Slender blondes are great, but after the fifty millionth one, let’s mix it up sometimes.

Why Can No One Get This Right????
I don't understand. I can suspend belief enough for a woman to fall for her captor. The story has to follow a natural logical progression. For example, no one gets from serious pain to complete arousal from 3 hard hits on the behind. Mind you, there's no soft rubbing in between, no soft kisses or anything. IT'S UNREALISTIC. Only a woman with mental health issues will scream out "keep going" or "that feels good" while being raped for the first time. I don't care how good it feels. Then, when she had the chance to ask for anything in exchange for her body, SHE DOESN'T ASK FOR THE FORCEFUL RAPE OF THE BREEDING GIRLS TO BE STOPPED. WHAT THE F*CK??!?? Then, she's a virgin and his manhood is humongous but it doesn't hurt the first time. ????!!!??? FACEPALM, alot.

STEAMY HOT then--> OMG THE PLOT!- AMAZING!!!
Was so impressed with this hidden gem of a book. In the beginning the book was smokin' hot, but then right when I began to wonder if this book was going to be all steam and no story/plot, the stable scene came up, and the plot thickened :-). Still, even though some of the plot was predictable, the storyline still managed to surprise me in a lot of ways. I love romance books that contain romantic tension with arguments between couples that are realistic, well written, deep, and engaging. Then watch the couple change after said arguments... It was wonderful to see the couple overcome their alien differences, learn to trust one another, and then fall in love.
As an African American who loves paranormal romances, I was proud to see an author make an African American/ Black woman the heroine. Sometimes with other books the description of the heroine makes things ambiguous or "up to interpretation" in regards to the ethnicity of primary characters. This is often disappointing and discouraging for me as an African American reader when I read character descriptions that are ethnically ambiguous because I'm left wondering why the writer didn't just take the leap or come out and say it. I'm glad this author didn't hold back and left no illusions of the heroine's ethnicity via the descriptions of her afro and dark skin. It even seemed to me that the author had a lot of fun with the cultural references; especially when they made that "neck rolling" comment- lol. I hope to see more authors venture out with characters of different ethnicities in the future. As previous reviewers have stated, it was a refreshing change from the normal tall leggy blonde heroines we generally read about in romances and or paranormal romances.
I can't recommend this book enough. It was so, so good! I will definitely be re-reading it along with the other books in the series. I like strong heroes and heroines, and this heroine was strong, smart, and determined; and the hero was too once he got over his alien/ HE MAN/ caveman ways. It was also cool to see how outsiders might view the human race. The description painted in "the reports" written about human characteristics were alarmingly accurate. I was glad the author was real, brutally honest, and didn't pull punches in that regard. I loved how this book was refreshingly different from the norm.
The narrator was also excellent, so there is definitely no reason you should hold back on getting this book. Thank me later :-)!

So awesome!!
This was written so well and the narrator was wonderful. I cried and laughed had huge moments of anxiety as the story unfolded. There were a few times I could not help but say things out loud in reaction to the story. It has all the feels and was so wonderful I hated to see it end. I really hope there is more to come and it makes its way to audible. I will absolutely buy the next book in the series when it comes out to audible. So well done I can’t say enough.

Stockholm is not for me
The heroine‘s sister and baby nephew have just died. She doesn’t know if she’s going to be killed next. Then she gets a female boner when the person responsible for the killing has just tossed her on her butt then picked her up by the neck? The tinglies for a abusive possibly-rapist/murderer? And that was in the first few minutes of the beginning of the book! That’s as far as I got.

Hot Damn! This was a good read
I was captured right away. It was a mixture of heart thruming excitment, bright details, and of course the alpha male chase.....that gloroius chase that SOME of us romace book readers LIVE for! All the components were here for me. I litterally found myself swiping away an embarrasing tear when i knew this book was coming to an end. YES, an actual tear. Let me be clear, if you have never read or are not open to Sci-fi romace , PNR , off-world, and Fantasy then you may shy away from this amazing book. For more than a year I have I have been engulfed in genres like this. So to my surprise the H described ethinicity was likely to be closer to mine and (in my OWN expericence )that is a rarety in this type of genere. Not that any of that truly matters because the book showed clear undertoners of breaking barries such as race and disability. Which I interally praised this book for alone. EVERYONE should give this book a read. The Heroine was relateable strong and passionate. You might find yourself imagining you're right beside her in the midst of her adventures! She often finds herself digging for courage in challenging times, which i think we can all relate to. The H is also authentic when sharing her feelings. It almsot feels like "breaking the fourth wall" which is a term used by actors to describe how they interact and share thoughts with an audience they previosuly pretend are not there. In short... she's Funny as ever.

Story
excellent inclusive paranormal erotica
WARNING: The main premise of this story is. Human (male) leaders of a earth-human ship crashed in alien territory. THEY agree to the alien leader to ALLOW the annual raping of all 21 y.o. human females (to created hybrid) to help the aliens repopulate their world which had suffered a virus that killed or sterilized their females.
Despite the distasteful situation. The writer did an excellent job using ALTERNATIVE vernacular for describing sexual terms, appendage & acts which (in my opinion) enhanced the erotic nature of main characters pairing. This story had aliens of different skin tones along with mentioning humans with different skin tones, body builds & disabilities There is suspense, action, drama, sex & mis understanding along with surprises.. GREAT start to an inclusive series... I hope there will be an older female added to one of the stories in the future.. In conclusion, this is worth the credit or money.. .

Predictable
There are several issues with this book. That could have been solved with a few simple warnings. This is a rape/capture fantasy (super common kink) this also titters on the edge of master slave fantasy with sexual torture and spanking involved ( also very common kinks). The problem is that the reader/listener doesn’t know this until they have already purchased the book. I think a lot of the bad ratings could have been avoided if these elements were listed in the books description so people who are not into that could simply avoid this book. These themes , while not my favorite, don’t bother me and are not triggering for me but I can totally see how someone could be disturbed by the relationship in this book.
I say all this to emphasize that it’s not the rape that made me give this book a low rating it was the plot. It laughable just how predictable this story is. Nothing in the story will surprise you and the villains are obvious when you are first introduced to them. That’s why it’s such a frustrating listen, because both leads come off as kind of stupid for not figuring it out until the end. It is difficult for the reader reader to watch the characters be clueless.
It is also one of those books where all the problems could be solved if the two leads just had one conversation. I found myself skipping the sex scenes because solving the conflict was more interesting than repetitive alien sex. This story is more porn than character development and plot and you are given the impression that any human woman would have been good enough for the alien to fall in love with. All in all this book had potential to be interesting and hot but wherever the plot got engrossing they faded into another sex scene.

Yayyyyy....Black Heroine in a paranormal scifi
I bought this book mainly because i saw in a review that it was a black female heroine. I am a huge fan of paranormal romance anyway but I've longed for one with abit of representation.
It was a really good read(or listen) and loved how strong Kira was portrayed. worth a credit. Thank you Taylor Vaughn, please keep them coming. Clementine Dove was an amazing narrator as well.

Hot, imaginative and funny.
It was better than I expected as some books in this genres are rushed and poorly written. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, some bits of it were laugh out loud. It's quite steamy as well, so headphones are probably best if not alone. Clementine Dove did a good job, great narrator, will be looking out for more of her work and these authors, hopefully she will be doing the new one soon.

Good book.
I was delighted to find that the characters don’t all of a sudden change there was a actual process of them changing. I loved the story and just wish other book was out already lol. X

good story really good narration
I read his to claim first and liked it so much that I had to read all the stories in the trilogy. I thought that the character development of the heroine was better than that of the hero. Also I would like to to get more insight into the Xals. Society and the relationship between the al female and the New Terran male . However, I enjoyed the story.
Lastly the narrator was absolutely fantastic

Love this book
I read this book on Kindle before buying it to listen to it again on Audible I enjoyed it so much.
If you like the alien romance genre with bossy alpha male heroes you won't be disappointed.
It has an intricate plot full of twists and turns, great world building and the romance hits all the right marks.
Warning: may contain some triggers.

Story
She’s everything I shouldn’t want. I capture her anyway. What humans hail an invasion we call Garrison Earth: A mission to save our species from extinction. But while my warriors will soon have the stomachs of their new mates swell with daughters, I know this planet holds nothing for me. Until a fierce, red-haired female points her gun with her eyes blazing fire, and I know I have found my mate. A bullet and a tranquilizer pad later, I carry her in my arms. Against my better judgment. But who argues fate?

Story
I left the Earth to get away from my controlling ex, and I refuse to fall into another man's arms...not even an amazingly masculine alien that awakens an uncontrollable attraction within me. Bask is the definition of alpha male and my opposite in every way. He comes from an alien species full of domineering males, and I'm not interested. I can't deny that I'm hot for him, but I'm not willing to be his submissive little female. When our ship crashes, he goes into protector mode. He thinks I'm a helpless human. I might not have the power to summon fire at my fingertips, but I'm not weak.

Story
I was having a cold coffee with my best friend Vivian when the whole world went upside-down. Now there are gazelle-glowing-like-a-light-bulb aliens running around eating everybody, and enormous dark purply-colored aliens that have a strong resemblance to bats, dive bombing from the sky. One of the bats says I'm his and I need to ease his mating rage. Yeah, not happening.
