Publisher's summary

“Why does this always happen to us?” (Quinn Broomsparkle, wizard extraordinaire)

Six months have passed since wizard Quinn Broomsparkle left behind his indentured servant shackles. He’s in love with his half-dragon/half-fairy familiar, Twig Starfig. He’s got a home. Friends. A job. And a father-in-law he could do without. A pretty close to perfect life. But as Quinn has learned the hard way, things rarely stay peaceful for long. Especially when a Starfig’s involved.

Summoned to his home realm and a past he’d thought left behind, Quinn and Twig find themselves in the middle of evil machinations...with no clear enemy. When Quinn’s younger brother, Zak, goes missing, it’s Starfig Investigations on the case.

Being the first wizard in a thousand years isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. On top of a missing brother, a brokenhearted red fury, an archivist with a secret, and a ghost pirate-parrot who’s determined to return to his captain, Quinn and Twig’s relationship is sorely tested when questions - and unhappy answers - about their mating dilemma are pushed to the fore.

All Quinn wants is his fairy share of happiness. Is that so much to ask?

Best yet in the series!

Narrator is superb and makes you think of different faces for each character flawlessly. Great and funny! Names if places and characters... a joke on its own...

Best One yet!

This one was so so much better than the others, I think its because there wasn't the struggle over who is dominant or not in this one.

This is done from Quinn's perspective, and was a different tone than the other 2 books. The storyline is coming along really well and it's interesting to see how the bits and pieces are coming from the other two books leading to this one. There is definitely a long game for this series.

Fun cast of new crazy characters, the old cast of looney characters and loads of adventure. So a typical Starfig Investigations book.

Narrator is excellent with all the different voices, gosh there must be like 15 or 20 and I never got confused about who was speaking.

Great story and Narration

I have listened to all 3 books in this series and love them all. The story itself is amazing g and the way Greg gives es them all their own voices is second to none.

Audio reread June 2021

Even when there's a book you don't think can possibly get better, anything can be made better being read by Greg Boudreaux! 😍

Awesome

This third book/audiobook of the Starfig series was wonderful to listen to as it was to read. Greg did an awesome job narrating it as usual, I love listening to his voice.

No loose ends

I read a few reviews before listening to this book so went cautiously into the story. The author did not disappoint. The story flowed as with previous books in the series, and all of the details were attended to in their time.

(Of course the narrator made listening ever the more enjoyable too.)

solid 4 stars

📖 This is a terrific series, with it's colourful characters, descriptions and places. This book is Quinn's story and although emotionally heavier than books 1 and 2, the story is still entertaining. I love books that come in at more than 8 hours, but it took a while to get going, with lots of new characters to keep track of and it just fell a little short of the sharp writing I have come to expect from the other 2 books in the series.

🎧 Greg Boudreaux (Tremblay) is a master story teller, each character has a distinguishable voice, his inflections / intonations (and singing!) all work to bring the book vividly to life. 📚 I'll happily listen to His Fairy Share again, and it will join the rest of the series on my re-listen list,
