In the club, with flashing lights and loud music, seeing him across the room is a scene out of a movie.

We lock eyes and sway to the beat—instantly connecting.

He nudges his head, calling me to the other side. Me? Of all the women in the club, this sexy man wants me to join him in VIP.

So I do.

And then I realize how tall he is, and the other guys surrounding him are also.

Wait. This guy was on the basketball court at the game I watched the night before. The guys standing around him are his teammates on the Houston Outlaws.

And me? I'm a small-town girl with a class of fifth graders, only in LA for a few more nights. So you could imagine my answer when he asks, "Wanna come back to the room with me?"

Julius sought her out, pursued her, offered her a real life, and loved on her. And yet, he apologized when SHE couldn’t make a decision about their relationship. Imani was infuriating. He could’ve done WAY better. It was difficult getting through this story. A thirsty man AIN’T sexy At All. The narrators were great.

Annoying main female character

Imani’s weak spirit and low confident nature was on my last nerve. I hated how her independence made her feel as if she had to choose her fake happiness, over working through true feelings. She chose misery the whole story , Jules was a great exception!

Good Read

This was a cute read. I got this book because of the narrators. This was my first time reading something by this author. I loved the story and the HEA.

This romance challenged my patience. I had so much hope at the beginning for how the story would develop but at most it felt like a one sided love story. Julius did all the pursuing, communicating, apologizing. Imani was more loyal to her best friend than she was to her partner. Maybe that’s how the story was meant to go but it was quite challenging. Every time I expected Imani to reach out to Julius and check on him we would find out she was on a vacation or her bestie’s house. Very one sided love story.

Had potential

quick easy listen. poor communication skills between the couple which was a little frustrating, I guess it's close to the drama needed to create the story.

not bad
