Feisty and Sweet

Love the book! Especially the beginning of the storyline how "cute meet" happens. Only the cute part was far from cute LOL!!! Seriously loved it!!! The banters and feisty female lead and the lack of the typical misunderstanding due to another woman was *chef's kiss*. Now I shall hunt for number two!!

This one was okay

I didn’t like this one as mush as the last one. Loved the Todd family but the Earl, his mother and half brother got on my nerves.

Liked the book. Ruth can be monotone but ok.

Liked the story line. Hannah's stories are intriguing and interesting. Kept me involved to the end.

SOME DREAMS DO COME TRUE …..

Awakening from a dream has Saxon Honey Todd believing that twin brother Pitney has been murdered by a man with dark hair and eyes 👀 with a scar over one eye . She tries to convince herself it’s a dream but shortly two cousins arrive to reinforce the fact of Pitney’s death and the name of the individual responsible , the Earl of Regenford . The Todd women are described ,in the story ,as independent and capable of withstanding a siege. Therefore the listener gets a sense of the strength of Saxon and her abilities as she swears to kill the man responsible for Pitney’s death . She leaves the wild and rugged North Country of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to seek justice immediately upon hearing their message.
Enter into the story Lord Botolf , Earl of Regenford , who’s service Pitney is in . While competing in a Tourney,an attempt on Lord Botolf’s life is made . Pitney thwarts the murder attempt but gets gravely injured in the process of saving his Lord’s life . It becomes clear that Botolf believes his half brother Colin is responsible due to jealousy . However he cannot find his half brother or concrete proof at this point . This when Saxon catches up with Botolf , Pitney and other members of both families. She almost succeeds in stabbing Lord Botolf before her uncle explains his sons have mixed up the message that was sent .
The Earl of Regenford , Botolf, finds himself confused , intrigued and physically aware of Saxon . Her behaviour and beauty intrigue him to the point he makes her his bride upon the return to his home . However his character is one of self reliance and strength which seems to struggle with 1) his past marriage and it’s horrible history 2) marriage to Saxon when his death may be unavoidable 3) Saxon’s independence and need to provide and protect her loved ones .
Another awesome and amazing listening experience from Hannah Howell.

I love the plot

I didn't dislike anything except maybe more, didn't want the book to end, let's hear more about the Todd's

Botolf and Saxan

Audible Premium Plus membership borrow. Multiple POV. Standalone. Ruth Urquhart read well and her English accent was clear and easy to understand. Content warnings: attempted r@pe; murders and multiple attempted murders; fights.

Pitney (18) saves Botolf (27), Earl of Regenford, from an attempt on his life but Pitney is gravelly wounded. Botolf is determined Pitney will live so he and his mother immediately set to nurse Pitney to health, promising to knight him for his bravery. Saxan Honey Todd (18), Pitney's twin, receives word that Pitney was murdered and that his murderer lives. Saxan sets out to avenge her twin's death. Saxan very nearly succeeds in her mission to kill Botolf when she learns Pitney is alive and that it wasn't Botolf who harmed him. Botolf and Saxan's love story beautifully unfolds in this historical romance set in 1319 in Northern England.

I'm really enjoying this author's work and am thankful so many of her audiobooks are available in APP. JP

Sweet Read

Enjoyed this book because it was different from the other. Definitely will continue with the series. Also enjoyed the narrator and her description of the Scottish Leader.

Consistently immature

The main characters do the stupidest things consistently in this book. The male warrior is a lax leader who knows his life and everyone else’s in his castle is in danger of being killed, yet he does things that ignore that fact. The young girl also makes stupid decisions even though she is almost killed several times, but still puts herself in harm’s way with predictable consequences. Very weak characters.
