Publisher's summary

At eighteen, Poe Blyton’s life is in shambles and the reason is Alaric Marshall.

After her mom’s death, he appeared out of nowhere and became Poe’s controlling guardian. When she protested his tyranny, he had the audacity to send her away to an all-girls reform school. A school full of iron clad rules and regulations.

But at least she’s graduating soon.

Until Alaric himself arrives at the school as the new principal and takes that away from her as well.

That devil.

He’s really asking for it, isn’t he?

And Poe is going to give it to him.

It doesn’t matter that her sworn enemy has the prettiest dark eyes she’s ever seen. Or that he looks really, really good in his boring tweed jackets. So much so that she wants to rip them off his body and see what’s underneath.

Because scorching hot or not, her new principal or not, Poe is going to ruin Alaric’s life.

NOTE: This is a complete STANDALONE set in the world of St. Mary's Rebels.

taboo

Poe was a difficult child growing up. She was given no love or attention by her mother who was hardly ever home. She considered her a mistake. when Poe was 14, her mother suddenly passed away. Her guardian, was Mr. Alaric Marshall. She was forced to move away from her home and her friends in NYC.
Alaric was strict, didn't speak to Poe only when acted out for attention. He had rules and expected her to obey. He considered her a nuisance.
He sent her to The St. Mary's school for girls . He became the principal while she was there. She plotted to ruin his life.
Alaric also was brought up in a home without love. His father blamed him for his wife's death during childbirth
Poe and Alaric developed a love/hate relationship. Alaric learns what jealousy and love is like in his life and it all comes down to finding love with Poe.
Colt Carter and Ri Paige brings all the emotions to this fantastic story.

Poe and Alaric

The narrators did a really good job telling the story and giving the characters a voice. Alaric😍💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥.

Alaric holy guacamole the thing this man says so hot and his voice panty melting. Can't help but feel sorry for him with everything he has to do and deal with. What he went through when he was younger. Poe I loved her for a majority of the story. First she goes through life being ignored and left alone to be raised by Nannies and her mothers house staff, so it's reasonable to act out. Then she loses her mother and is told someone she never seen or heard of is her guardian. Which I don't understand why Alaric's father was given guardianship unless it was to mess with Alaric who ends up being in charge due to his father's health and becauae she really didn't like her daughter. So now she is still being left alone but in a place she doesn't know and just wants to go back to her home in NYC. So now she is acting out trying to get Alaric's attention. Alaric puts up with her shenanigans until a boy comes into the picture and she ends up at St. Mary's where she meets friends. But then she meets her boyfriend who is going on tour and wants her to come too. Real enjoyed everything she tried to pull to get Alaric to let her out of summer school early and to give her her trust. While she does all this she slowly learns about her ward and her feelings start to change. This is around then she starts to sound like a clingy, whiny teenager and I am not a fan of that type of character so that is why I wasn't a fan of Poe towards the end she starting to get annoying.

Emotional

Poe lost her mom and her guardian is Mr Marshall senior but he not capable to take care of anyone so Alaric his son become guardian of a teenager and he send her to a school and years late he is the new principal of St Mary. Alaric is jaded and he was bully and humiliated by Poe mother and he was also mistreated by his father. Poe has been neglected by her mom and mistreated she has never felt love only by the group of girl that she meet in her school and when she about to graduated she is held back by her guardian. Alaric and Poe grow closer to each other which is very inappropriate. Poe want to design clothes and she has hidden her talent from others. When Poe try to blackmail Alaric by trying to seduce him and she planted a camera, Alaric catches her so what does Poe does she takes provocative pictures and send it to Alaric. Both of them find out how there childhood were the same just tragic. Poe had a childhood crush on a boy Jimmy who come back into her life but he kidnapped her for money. Alaric rescue her. New character and past character appear and mention. The spiced is really hot. The narrator were so good they were just perfect for this characters. |
