Publisher's Summary

Can love offer a new future...in the past?

A mysterious gown, unexpected courage, and a love that transcends time.

Nursing student Lena Lowery faces a grim diagnosis and a dangerous surgery. On the cusp of the life-changing procedure, Lena stays at the Rosswood Plantation Bed and Breakfast for one last weekend with her mother. There in an antique armoire, Lena discovers a Civil War-era gown that holds an unimaginable cure...a trip back in time to when the house served as a hospital.

Confederate Sergeant Caleb Dockery lost his brother, his eye, and nearly his life. Stuck in a makeshift infirmary, he's counting the days until he can return to duty and seek revenge. When a stranger appears, he suspects she's a spy. If he can't return to duty and find the revenge he craves for his brother's death, he can serve his country by stopping this traitor. But her nursing skills are saving lives, and her courage and independence stirs his heart. When Lena's safety is threatened, Caleb must strain the loyalties that bind him or risk losing her forever.

Caught between a future that holds no promises and a past that could offer new life, Lena must face an extraordinary decision. Should she return to her own time where her days are numbered? Or can she and Caleb find a love that stretches across time?

Amazing time travel romance

I loved this book. I had to keep listening just to find out what happens with the characters. Lena has a health problem that is sapping her energy and gives her a lot of pain. Lena and her mother visit a plantation for their last rendezvous together before Lena's big surgery. They each enjoy the peace at the plantation and the history that it presents. I loved watching Lena get transported back in time and how she had to deal with being in the civil war hospital that was set up at the plantation she was staying at. While Lena was back in time, she feels better than she ever has and meets a man that she grows to care for. I enjoyed how the story progressed and how the story pulls the past and the present together for the good of all. It had a lot of redeeming qualities to the relationships that were presented in the book. I recommend to those that love good romance and seeing the way a single strand is weaved into a bigger tapestry.

Stupid Story!

I can’t stand this stupid story! And the fake southern accents. Awful! I enjoy a well written time travel story, but this surely is not! Waste of time and credit!

Predictable Christian Romance

I listened to the end, hoping there would be something unusual about the story, but alas, this was not to be. Most troubling is the concept that Almighty God could not figure out a way grant a young woman’s prayers to find love and be healed of a brain tumor without sending her back in time to the Civil War Era. Why couldn’t He do it in the present? Why the 1800s? The book would have been better without the eye-rolling religious tie-Ins... or perhaps, if the author really wanted to use that angle, she could have been brought back in time as the answer to someone else’s equally passionate prayers. Oh, well...

Something Different!

Ahhh! This book was so different than I’ve ever read but it touched me. This audiobook was wonderful with the man and woman narrators. The characters were so real to me once I got to know them. The emotional trauma of going back and forth between times was rough on Lena but it sure made me think “what if it could happen this way”.
I also loved visiting the same house that was in “The Liberated Series” and enjoyed revisiting with Annabelle and Peggy. I had not forgotten them at all. The series they were in was so good.
The twists and turns and the romance in this book kept me swiping my iPad pretty fast. I didn’t want it to end but I sure had to hurry up and find out the ending.
I didn’t give details because you can read the blurb but don’t miss this one because I think you will be touched too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions are my own.

Sweet story

I was entertained by this short story, however the reader read without pause, giving you no time to consider what just happened. Even a 3 second pause at times would have contributed to more stars in the performance rating.
